1、Unit5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?Period 1 Section A (1a-1c)一、教材解读 这是新目标英语(Go for it)八年级下册第五单元第一课时。学会谈论过去发生的事情、学会讲故事是本单元的语言目标。如何使用过去进行时及使用when、while引导的时间状语从句是本单元的重点内容。二、学生分析 本班学生基础较好，对英语比较感兴趣，求知欲比较强。七年级下册已学过现在进行时，并掌握了如何用现在进行时来描述日常活动，而且掌握了一些日常活动的短语，有利于他们学习过去进行时。 三、教学目标 1.知识与技能：(1)学习并掌
2、握1a-1c的单词与短语。(2)学会使用过去进行时表达法并掌握以下句型： What were you doing when the rainstorm came?I was doing my homework.What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm?She was reading.2.过程与方法：(1)通过情景介绍方式进行词汇或短语教学让学生在情境中操练理解并学会运用；(2)采取Pairwork或Groupwork问答式的口语交际活动，让学生运用表达方式和句型互相操练“过去某一时间正在做某事”；(3)采取与图片配对、圈出正确答案
3、的听力方式帮助学生掌握听力技能；(4)利用课件引导学生自主学习，展开课堂教学。3.情感态度与价值观：通过本课的学习，增进同学之间的友情，让学生爱上英语课堂活动, 鼓励他们在课堂上进行合作交流。四、教学重、难点 1.教学重点:过去进行时态：“was / were + doing”结构及when 引导的时间状语从句。2.教学难点:掌握由when引导的时间状语如何使用过去进行时。五、教学策略1.语音教学让学生进行模仿操练。2.词汇教学采取情景介绍的方式进行，让学生在情境中操练、理解含义并学会运用。3.口语教学采取Pairwork和Groupwork问答式的口语交际活动互相操练。4.听力教学采取与图片

5、S:I was.【设计意图】由此引出过去进行时, 并采取领读、齐读、Pairwork等方式练熟句型为下步课文句型做准备。Activity 3. A guessing game: Whatsit? T: Lets guess. S: Itsa heavyrainstorm. 【设计意图】教师使用多媒体播放暴风雨的声音,导入本单元话题。 Step 2 Presentation. Activity 1. T: Yesterday, there was a rainstorm. Where were they when the rainstorm came? Here are some reports
