Unit5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?Period 1 Section A (1a-1c)一、教材解读 这是新目标英语(Go for it)八年级下册第五单元第一课时。学会谈论过去发生的事情、学会讲故事是本单元的语言目标。如何使用过去进行时及使用when、while引导的时间状语从句是本单元的重点内容。二、学生分析 本班学生基础较好,对英语比较感兴趣,求知欲比较强。七年级下册已学过现在进行时,并掌握了如何用现在进行时来描述日常活动,而且掌握了一些日常活动的短语,有利于他们学习过去进行时。 三、教学目标 1.知识与技能:(1)学习并掌握1a-1c的单词与短语。(2)学会使用过去进行时表达法并掌握以下句型: What were you doing when the rainstorm came?I was doing my homework.What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm?She was reading.2.过程与方法:(1)通过情景介绍方式进行词汇或短语教学让学生在情境中操练理解并学会运用;(2)采取Pairwork或Groupwork问答式的口语交际活动,让学生运用表达方式和句型互相操练“过去某一时间正在做某事”;(3)采取与图片配对、圈出正确答案的听力方式帮助学生掌握听力技能;(4)利用课件引导学生自主学习,展开课堂教学。3.情感态度与价值观:通过本课的学习,增进同学之间的友情,让学生爱上英语课堂活动, 鼓励他们在课堂上进行合作交流。四、教学重、难点 1.教学重点:过去进行时态:“was / were + doing”结构及when 引导的时间状语从句。2.教学难点:掌握由when引导的时间状语如何使用过去进行时。五、教学策略1.语音教学让学生进行模仿操练。2.词汇教学采取情景介绍的方式进行,让学生在情境中操练、理解含义并学会运用。3.口语教学采取Pairwork和Groupwork问答式的口语交际活动互相操练。4.听力教学采取与图片配对、圈出正确答案的听力方式。六. 教学方法:1)任务型教学法2)情景教学法3)交际教学法七、教学用具PPT、课本、黑板八、教学实施过程Step 1 Warming up and leading in.Activity 1. Greetings. 【设计意图】通过问候,师生进行初步的情感交流,营造氛围。Activity 2. Leading in.T: what are you doing?S1: I am.【设计意图】用正在进行时热身问答,为下步过去进行时做铺垫。Ask S1 again: What were you doing at this time yesterday?(边问边写)T/S:I was.【设计意图】由此引出过去进行时, 并采取领读、齐读、Pairwork等方式练熟句型为下步课文句型做准备。Activity 3. A guessing game: Whats it? T: Lets guess. S: Its a heavy rainstorm. 【设计意图】教师使用多媒体播放暴风雨的声音,导入本单元话题。 Step 2 Presentation. Activity 1. T: Yesterday, there was a rainstorm. Where were they when the rainstorm came? Here are some reports. PPT出示在不同地方采访的图片,学生两人一组做采访问答。【设计意图】为教材1a做准备。Activity 2. 1a. Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the statements with the people in the picture. Activity 3. Speaking. Task 1:Look at the pictures and answer the questions by using “was/were + doing”.A: What were you doing at the time of the rainstorm?B: I was doing the dishes.【设计意图】出示一副图片进行师生,生生引导性练习。Task 2: Pairwork: 出示另外5副图片,分别是fold the clothes, sweep the floor, clean the living room, make the bed, take out the rubbish,学生看图pairwork。A: What were you doing at the time of the rainstorm?B: I was 【设计意图】自主练习,检查运用, 而且这些都是第四单元学过的动词短语,学生用起来不会感觉陌生。Task 3: Make up your own dialogues:A: What were you doing when the rainstorm came ?B: I was老师给出示范性短语do my homework/watch TV/ read学生模仿创造自己的短语及句子。【设计意图】让学生运用自己学过的动词,创造性练习进而提高学生创造句子的能力。Task 4: 出示第三人称单数句型:A: What was your sister doing when the rainstorm came?B: She was doing her homework.【设计意图】 领读、齐读、小组练习第三人称句型,为1c做准备。Task 5:Make up your own dialogues:A: What was doing when the rainstorm came ?B: He/She was老师给出示范性人称Jim/your father/Ann及示范性短语watch TV/play basketball/sleep学生模仿创造自己的短语及句子。【设计意图】提高学生创造句子及灵活运用的能力。Step 3 Listening. Activity 1. Before listening, lead students to read the 8 phrases in 1b.Activity 2. 1b. Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses. Activity 3. Check the answers.Activity 4. Past progressive tense:2.1概念:过去进行时用于描述过去某个时刻或某个时间段正在发生的动作。2.2基本结构:sb. + was/were + doing 2.3.标志词:at that time, when从句at this time last week,at+时间点+yesterday morning. Step 7 Exercises.1.填空。2.补全对话。3.改错。【设计意图】以形式多样的练习使学生进一步巩固本节所学。Step 8 Homework.仿照课本1c,你可以用你学过的动词短语尽可能多地编对话,至少5组。 【设计意图】使学生对本节课所学内容能够学以致用。Step 9 Emotional SublimationShow a picture of clock and give advice: Time is limited and the past has gone with wind, so we should treasure today and do meaningful things, such as caring for your classmates, your friends and your family members.
