The marriage was precipitated (促成) by her pregnancy and critics believe their union was not especially happy.,The couple had three children, two daughte

2、rs and a son, Hamnet. Hamnet died at the age of 11 in 1596 at around the time that Shakespeare wrote the tragedy, Hamlet.,1585-1592: Shakespeares lost years. Some critics say he was forced to leave Stratford for London because he was caught poaching.,His gravestone reads: Good friend for Jesus sake

3、forbearTo dig the dust enclosed here!Blest be the man that spares these stones,And curst be he that moves my bones,Shakespeare was buried on April 25, 1616, in Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, where he had been baptized just over 52 years earlier.,Impact Though not highly educated, he had a wider ran

6、re that deal with such themes as love, beauty, politics, and mortality. They were probably written over a period of several years.,Sonnet十四行诗,A sonnet is a fourteen-line poem in iambic pentameter with a carefully patterned rhyme scheme. The sonnet is one of the poetic forms that can be found in lyri

7、c poetry from Europe. A Shakespearean, or English sonnet consists of 14 lines, each line contains ten syllables, and each line is written in iambic pentameter in which a pattern of a non-emphasized syllable followed by an emphasized syllable is repeated five times. The rhyme scheme in a Shakespearea

8、n sonnet is ABAB CDCD EFEF GG in which the last two lines are a rhyming couplet.,The first 17 sonnets are written to a young man, urging him to marry and have children, thereby passing down his beauty to the next generation. These are called the procreation sonnets. Most of them, however, 18-126, ar

9、e addressed to a young man expressing the poets love for him. Sonnets 127-152 are written to the poets mistress, a dark lady, expressing his strong love for her. The final two sonnets, 153-154, are allegorical.,The Sonnet,Comes from the Italian word sonetto little song. It is a lyric poem of 14 line

In 1592, the London theatres closed due to a severe outbreak of the plague(瘟疫). The closing of the playhouses made it hard for Shakespeare and other act

Moreover, in 1592 there came a scathing(苛刻的,严厉的) attack on Shakespeare by dramatist Robert Greene, who wrote something in a deathbed diary assaulting Shakespeare. In the middle of the sonn

22、et, the narrator unleashes his envious feelings towards other men. He expresses his desire to possess others riches, looks, friends, skills and opportunities. The narrator then expresses how he happens to think of his dear friend, and then to his own state or position in life at the current time. He
