1、同位语从句讲解一、理解同位语从句的含义,把握同位语从句的实质在主从复合句中作同位语的从句称为同位语从句。同位语从句一般用that, whether, what, which,who, when, where, why, how 等词弓I导,常放在 fact, news, idea, truth, hope, problem, information, wish, promise, answer, evidence, report, explanation, suggestion, conclusion 等抽象名词后面,说明该名词的具体内 容。换言之,同位语从句和所修饰的名词在内容上为同一关系,

2、对其内容作进一步说明。例:The news that they had won the game soon spread over the whole school.他们比赛获胜的消息很快传遍了整个学校。I heard the news that our team had won .我听到了我们队获胜的息。I had no idea that you were here .我不知道你在这里。1 .名词作同位语Mr. Wang, my child s teacher, will be visiting us on Tuesday.王先生,我孩子的老师,星期二要来看我们。2 .短语作同位语1, t

3、he oldest girl in the family, always had to care for the other children.我,作为家里最大的女孩,老得照料家中的其他孩子。3 .直接引语作同位语But now the question comes to their minds, “ Did she die young because she was a clone?但是现在他们不得不思考这样的问题:“多利早死是因为它是一只克隆羊吗? ”4 .句子作同位语The girls were surprised at the fact that ocean ships can sai

4、l up the Great lakes.巨大的海轮可以开到五大湖,让表姐妹俩感到吃惊。二、正确运用同位语从句的引导词,准确把握同位语从句1 .如同位语从句意义完整,应用that引导同位语从句。(即that不充当任何成分,只起连接作用,不可省略)例:The general gave the order that the soldiers should cross the river at once.4各军下达了战士们立即 过河的命令。析:the soldiers should cross the river at once 是 the order 的全部内容,且意义完整,因此应用that引导同

5、位语从句。2 .如同位语从句意义不完整,需增加是否的含义,应用 whether引导同位语从句。(if不能引导同位语从句)例:Well discuss the problem whether the sports meeting will be held on time. 我们将讨论运动会是否 会如期举行的问题。析:the sports meeting will be held on time意义不完整,应加是否的含义才能表达 the problem的 全部内容,因此应用 whether引导同位语从句。3 .如同位语从句意义不完整,需增加 什么时候、什么地我、什么方式”等含义,应用when, w

6、here, how等词引导同位语从句。例 1 : I have no idea when he will be back.析:he will be back意义不完整,应加什么时候”的含义才能表达idea的全部内容,因此应用when 引导同位语从句。例 2 : I have no impression how he went home, perhaps by bike.析:he went home意义不完整,应加如何”的含义才能表达impression的全部内容,因此应用how引导同位语从句。4 .当主句的谓语较短,而同位语从句较长时,同位语从句常后置。如: The thought came

7、to him that maybe the enemy had fled the city.他突然想起可能敌人已经逃出城了。三、把握同位语从句和定语从句的区别,明确同位语从句和相似从句的界限同位语从句和定语从句相似,都放在某一名词或代词后面,但同位语从句不同于定语从句。同位语从句对名词加以补充说明,是名词全部内容的体现,且名词和同位语从句的引导词均不在从句中作成分;定 语从句说明先行词的性质与特征,与先行词是修饰与被修饰的关系,且名词和定语从句的引导词均在从句 中作成分。区分时可以在先行词与与从句之间加一个系动词be使之构成一个新句子,如果句子通顺且符合逻辑,则为同位语从句,反之,则为定语从句

8、。如: The report that he was going to resign was false.因为 the report was that he was going to resign 句意通顺,所以, that he was going to resign 是同位语从 句。1) Information has been put forward more middle school graduates will be admitted into universities.A. while B. that C. when D. as析:答案为 Bo more middle schoo

9、l graduates will be admitted into universities 是 Information 的内容, 且Information不在从句中作成分,所以该句为同位语从句。应将该句区别于:2) It is said that more middle school graduates will be admitted into universities , this is the information has been put forward.A. what B. that C. when D. as析:答案为 Bo that has been put forward为

10、information的修饰性定语,且 information在从句中作 主语,所以该句为定语从句。例 2: She heard a terrible noise,brought her heart into her mouth.(MET91)A. it B. which C. this D. that析:答案为Bo分析语境含义、句子结构和句子成分可知,该句为非限制性定语从句,先行词为 a terrible noise,且它在从句中作主语。应将该句区别于:I cant stand the terrible noise she is crying loudly.A. it B. which C.

He often asked me the question the work was worth doing.A. whether B. where C. that D. whenKeys: 1-5 AABBA 6-10 BDCAA同位语从句和定语从句的三点区别同位语从句和定语从句很相似,但还是有区别的,区别主要在以下三方面:1 .从词类上区别同位语从句前面的名词只能是idea,fact,news,hope,belief,suggestion,proposal,word,thought,doubt,truth,possibility,promise,order

15、等有一定内涵的名词,而定语从句的先行词可以是名词,代词,主句的一部分或是整个主句。如:The possibility that the majority of the labour force will work at home is often discussed.(同位语从句 )We are not looking into the question whether he is worth trusting.(同位语从句)Word came that he had been abroad.(同位语从句 )Our team has won the game, which made us ve

16、ry happy.我们的队赢了,这让我们很高兴?(定语从句)The doctor whom you are looking for is in the room.你找的那位医生在房间里面?(定语从句)His mother did all she could to help him with his study.他妈妈尽她的最大努力帮助他的学习?(定语从句,代词all作先行词?)2 .从性质上区别定语从句是从句对其先行词的修饰或限制,属于形容词性从句的范畴;而同位语从句是从句对前面抽象名词的进一步的说明和解释,属于名词性从句的范畴。如:The news that our team has won

17、 the game was true.我们队赢了那场比赛的消息是真的?(同位语从句,补充说明news到底是一个什么消息?)The news that he told me yesterday was true.昨天他告诉我的那个消息是真的?(定语从句,news在从句中作told的宾语?)I made a promise that if anyone set me free I would make him very rich.我许诺如果谁让我自 由,我就让他非常富有?(同位语从句,补充说明promise到底是一个什么诺言?)The mother made a promise that plea

18、sed all her children.妈妈做出了一个令她的孩子们高兴的许诺?(定语从句,promise在从句中作 pleased的主语?)3 .从引导词及其在句子中的成分上区别有些引导词如how, whether, what可以引导同位语从句,但不能引导定语从句 ?如:That question whether we need it has not been considered.我们是否需要它这个问题还没有考虑?(同位语从句)I have no idea what has happened to him.我不知道他发生了什么事 ?(同位语从句)引导词that引导定语从句时,在从句中一般作

19、主语或宾语(指物时还可以用 which代替),并且作宾语时常常省略?that在同位语从句中仅起连接作用,不充当任何成分,并且不能省略,也不能用which来代替我口:The order that we should send a few people to help the other groups was received yesterday. 我们应派几个 人去帮别的几个小组的命令昨天收到了?(同位语从句,是对order的具体解释,that虽不作成分,但不能省略?)The order that we received yesterday was that we should send a f

20、ew people to help the other groups. 我们 昨天收到的命令是我们应该派几个人去帮助别的几个小组?(定语从句,是名词order的修饰语,that在从句中作received的宾语,可以省略?)4 .意义的不同同位语从句是用于说明所修饰名词的具体内容的,它与被修饰词语通常可以划等号;而定语从句是 限制所修饰名词的,它的作用是将所修饰的名词与其他类似的东西区别开 来: We are glad at the news that he will come.听到他要来这个消息我们很高兴。(news的内容就是that he will come ,故that引导的是同位语从句

21、)We are glad at the news that he told us.听到他告诉我们的这个消息我们很高兴。(that从句是限制the news的内容的,即我们高兴只是因为他告诉的这个news而不是其他的news,故that从句为定语从句)5 .被修饰词语的区别A.定语从句的先行词是名词或代词;而同位语从句的先行词只能是名词,而且仅限于idea, plan,fact, theory, promise, hope, news, doubt, truth, information , suggestion, question, thought, belief, conclusion 等少

22、数名词。例如: The boy who is playing football is my classmate . Those who work hard will succeed . The fact that he had not said anything surprised everybody .The fact that you are talking about is important .在句中,划线部分是定语从句,其先行词是名词boy,它不能用作同位语从句的先行词。在句中,划线部分也是定语从句,其先行词是代词those,代词不能用作同位语从句的先行词。在句中,划线部分是同位语从

23、句,其先行词是名词fact,它同样可以用作定语从句的先行词,句便是一例。由以上分析可见,同位语从句的先行词一定可以用作定语从句的先行词,但定语从句的先行词不一定能用作同位语从句的先行词。B. when, where, why引导的定语从句的先行词一定分别是表示时间、地点和原因的名词,而三者 引导的同位语从句的先行词则肯定不是表示时间、地点和原因的名词。例如: I still remember the day when I first came to Beijing . I have no idea when she will be back .在句中,划线部分是 when引导的定语从句,其先行

24、词 day是表示时间的名词;在句中,划线部分是when引导的同位语从句,其先行词idea则不是表示时间的名词。3.引导词的不同定语从句和同位语从句共同的引导词有四个:that, when, where, why。下面把四个引导词分成两类说明它们在两种从句中的不同用法。A.引导词that引导定语从句的that叫做关系代词,它除了起连接作用,还在定语从句中充当一定成分,并且在意 义上代表先行词;引导同位语从句的that叫做从属连词,它只起连接作用。不能省略。 例如: The news that you told me yesterday was really exciting .We heard

25、the news that our team had won .在句中,划线部分是定语从句,that在从句中作宾语,在意义上指代先行词news。在句中,划线部分是同位语从句,that没有任何意义,只起连接作用。that引导同位语从句时,它不充当句子成分,而引导定语从句时,它作为关系代词,要么充当定语从 句的主语,要么充当定语从句的宾语。如上例 that he told us中的that就充当told的宾语。B.引导词 when, where, why引导定语从句时,它们叫做关系副词,在从句中充当状语,可以转换成介词+关系代词”的形式;引导同位语从句时, 它们叫做连接副词,在从句中充当状语,但不

26、能转换成介词+关系代词”的形式。例如: I will never forget the day when I joined the army . We have no idea when she was born.在句中,划线部分是定语从句,when在从句中作状语,它可以转换成on which的形式;在句中,划线部分是同位语从句,when在从句中充当状语, 但不能转换成介词+关系代词”的形 This is the house where I lived two years ago . He put forward to the question where the meeting would be held .在句中,划线部分是定语从句,where在从句中作状语,它可以转换成in which的形式;在句中,划线部分是同位语从句,where在从句中充当状语,但不能转换成介词+关系代词”的形式。 This is the reason why she will not attend the meeting . d The teacher had no idea why Jack was absent.在句中,划线部分是定语从句,why在从句中作状语,它可以转换成for which的形式;在句 中, 划线部分是同位语从句,why在从句中充当状语,但不能转换成介词+关系代词”的形式
