BoomersisthenamegiventothegenerationofAmericanswhowereborninababyboomfollowingWorldWarII.TheyoungestgroupofBabyBoomersaremanagingtheMillennialsandGeneration-Xgroupsofemployees-andinsomecases,beingmanagedbythem.TheUnitedStatesexperiencedanexplosionofbirths(hencethenamebabyboom)thatcontinuedforthenext18years,whenthebirthratebegantodrop.In1964,babyboomersrepresented40%ofthepopulation,whichmeansthatmorethanonethirdofthepopulationwasunder19yearsofage.Sincebabyboomersmakeupsuchasizableportionoftheconsumingpublic,theirspendinghabitsandlifestyleshaveapowerfulinfluenceontheeconomy.BABYBOOMERSBABYBOOMERSEXPERIENCESCold bracket.GenXersareintheirpeakyearsofproductandserviceconsumptionanditsmembersviewelectronicmediaasaprimarytoolforconductingresearchandaccomplishingtasks.Themediatheyusearefragmented.Theyembraceawiderrangeoflifestylesthanpreviousgenerations.WeanedonMTVandcabletelevision,theyarelargelyimmunetotraditionaladvertising.Facedwithstagnantwagesandhighdebt,theyaremorecostconsciousthanfree-spendingboomers.MILLENNIALSTheGenerationYaresometimescalledtheTrophyGeneration,orTrophyKids,atermthatreflectsthetrendincompetitivesports(aswellasmanyotheraspectsoflife)wherenoonelosesandeveryonegetsaThanksforParticipatingtrophy.Trophykidsdevelopedpressuretoexcelnotonlyinschool,butalsohobbies,sportsandservicework.Arecentsurvey,theyfoundthat97%ofstudentsownedacomputer,94%ownedacellphone,and56%ownedanmp3player(iPod,Zune,Sansa,etc.).TheyarethemosteducatedgenerationintheUnitedStatescurrently.MILLENNIALSMILLENNIALSEXPERIENCES9/11-World
