IntroductionDear Supplier,A structured flow of information and focused communication is of the utmost importan

3、ce to ensure successful project management on both sides: On you, as our supplier and on us, as the customer of your quality products.This guideline helps you to achieve that the required target by outlining our expectations with regard to your process planning, the required communication related to

4、 engineering changes, to report progress and deviations, to parts ordering and to various logistical questions.In addition, this guideline holds various templates to enable a structured flow of communication between you and us, Advance Supplier Quality & Readiness. Advance Supplier Quality & ReadinessAs a part of GME Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, the department Advance Supplier Quality &

6、 Readiness (ASQ&R) is a key player to ensure the production readiness of our suppliers in terms of quality and capability to deliver production parts according to our requirements.As our supplier you will be personally supported by a dedicated key contact-Advance Quality Engineer (AQE)- at ASQ&R, wh

7、o will accompany you through the Advanced Product Quality Planning Process (APQP) for new project launches in Europe.In this function ASQ&R, together with Engineering, Purchasing and Quality Assurance, aims to secure a successful project launch focusing on both the quality of your products and your

8、ability to deliver according to our requirements.In summary we aim to ensure that all your parts are supplied in the required quantity and quality to the correct delivery location, and that you are in position to continuously do so. Our target is to have the supplier and all the new vendor parts rea

Documentation 3.1 Informational Overview This guideline i

10、s to be seen as a complementary tool to other GM procedures. It neither revokes nor restricts nor eliminates any regulation described or defined in any GM procedure. The validity of any quality procedures, such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

11、or ISO 16949 / QS 9000 remains unchanged. We expect that your Quality Assurance is not only familiar with these procedures but is acting according to these procedures.All required technical GM-specifications must be considered and can be purchased from:IHS GmbHFloriansbogen 2-482061 Neuried (GERMANY

All templates that are required for the various APQP/PPAP tasks are attached there as well. Apart from the specific explanations, the

13、 guideline in front of you provides you with additional templates that are not listed in the procedures mentioned above.3.2 Planning of the SupplierWe expect your timings to be consistent and realistic. Your submitted documents serve as our common basis to follow-up on project readiness and the targ

14、et is to ensure a smooth vehicle launch. Please indicate when parts from a serial tool would be ready. In addition, we ask you to explicitly state if trial or prototype tools are existing or planned, and if yes, when parts would be available from soft tooling. Any change of your initial planning mus

15、t be proactively communicated in writing and on your own initiative.We assume that the dates you have committed to ASQ&R, are followed-up within your company and that any problems, deviations or delays would be communicated immediately to ASQ&R.3.3 APQP DocumentationAs the APQP documentation is the

16、key to guide project execution at suppliers site, all APQP documentation has to be stored at the suppliers location and may be checked by us and must be immediately submitted, when requested by the AQE. The following mandatory documentation must be provided/updated for each new commodity (see chapte

17、r 7. Templates): Contact ListAPQP Timing Open Issue ListFeasibility LettersSupplier Validation PlanRunRate Documentation (incl. Capacity Check-Sheet)Capacity check must be done in case the RR can not be done before Start of Manufacturing Build Saleable.All GM-owned tooling needs to be documented wit

18、h template A (APQP-Plan, Toolmaker).All further documentation has to be stored at suppliers location as requested by GM procedures.A new APQP module is currently being developed and will be integrated in the Global Quality Tracking System (GQTS) at . As soon as this new module is available, in addit

19、ion all APQP documentation has to be stored there as well as the supplier has to enter the requested data and to fill out the requested fields.4. Orders for Samples and for Production Parts 4.1 PPAP Initial Sample OrdersAfter the AQE has taken over the project coordination for a specific part, you w

20、ill receive an order for samples according to PPAP procedures (template E).Together with the required documentation, you must ensure that these requested OK-samples are available to us in time so that the Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) of the respective Home-Plant can provide a quality release pri

21、or to the planned required date of the parts. The PPAP-samples must be parts from serial tool and serial environment that has already been quality checked and approved by you. These parts must be according to GM-specification and must always reflect the latest technical status. Please send the follo

22、wing documentation (Contact List, APQP Timing, Open Issue List, Toolmaker, Feasibility Letters and Validation Plan - templates see chapter 7.) as stated in the sample order to your AQE. Please stick to the required volume of PPAP-samples and ensure that the due date for delivery of the required docu

23、mentation and the due date for the requested samples are met.We assume that samples are OK according to specification, if not deviations must be documented with a PPAP Worksheet (GM1411). Any deviation documented in the PPAP Worksheet (template D) must include an Action Plan (including timing and re

24、sponsible) and a Validation Plan. After having submitted the samples, the sampling process must be monitored by you, through GQTS. If your samples are rejected you must proactively provide us within one week a new sampling date for corrected samples.We will not send out a new sample order.4.2 Orders

25、 for Production Parts The ASQ&R-Materials Management (MM) Team and/or the AQE will order production parts (such as parts for Product and Process Validation Build, Manufacturing Validation Build) using template F.You must immediately confirm in writing receipt of the parts order, including the delive

26、ry date. In addition, you are asked to re-confirm in writing with template G your ability to deliver one week prior to the agreed delivery date. Close to the build stage of saleable cars, the responsibility of ASQ&R for ordering of parts will be transferred to the local Materials and Production Cont

27、rol (MPC) in the GM plants and you will have to deliver parts according to their demands and to MGO-delivery schedules transmitted via EDI.4.3 Availability of PartsThe supply of parts for the various buckets related to the build events must be ensured with the technical change level released for eac

28、h phase, taking into consideration that you must ensure the timely availability of parts, so that we have a disruption-free vehicle build. If you plan to change tools or to transfer production at any time during the start-up phase of a project, it is your responsibility to inform your contact at ASQ

29、&R. If a transfer of production /-equipment is planned, it has to be shown in your APQP-Timing. This implies that you must explicitly indicate a planned production transfer.The exact date of your production transfer must be agreed with ASQ&R and has to be documented in the required PPAP-documentatio

30、n.Please remember that the availability of parts must be ensured at any time during the various project phases. Measures to eliminate risk of shortages such as banking programs (banking and deliveries only on approved change level) pulling-ahead or postponing the production-transfer are your respons

31、ibility to manage.4.4 Packaging, Labeling and TransportationFor all deliveries (samples and productive material) completely filled out labels must be attached to the package according to our order. Please request on time, the required labels from your ASQ&R contact.To identify each shipment the labe

32、ls must be filled out completely. This includes the use of the parts (samples or productive material), you need to indicate accordingly. In addition, you must indicate the requested unloading dock on the delivery note.If multiple part-numbers are sent, they must be packed and labeled separately (thi

33、s is as well valid for left-hand and right-hand parts).Pick-up of parts will be solely initiated by ASQ&R. To do so, please ensure that you confirm the following information at least one week prior to pick-up with template G: Exact pick-up date and time Contact person in sales and shipping (incl. te

34、lephone and fax-number) Shipping address of the shipping plant / location Partnumber (if colored part: colored part-number), Partname Quantity (must be according to the requested quantity) Package size and weight of the shipment Drawing date of the parts / EWO (E)The pick-up sheet (template H) will

35、be sent to you and to the carrier on time.The shipment must include: Shipping documents Labels attached in a visible area Sampling reports according to PPAP (if sample shipment: please include three copies)In case there is a new quality level available, you must indicate with a label “New Quality” t

36、he packaging of the shipment and parts. In addition you must inform your ASQ&R- contact about this new quality in advance.The carriers are advised to check the shipment for completeness, if incomplete, the shipment will not be picked-up.In case the parts are not ready to be picked-up at the time you

37、 advised, you will be responsible for all additional cost.5. Reasons for PPAP Submissions/ResubmissionsFor your information the following listing shows when a PPAP submission/resubmission is required: New part or product Correction of a discrepancy on a previously submitted package Change in specifi

38、cation or materials New or modified tools (including replacement tooling) Refurbishment or rearrangement of existing tooling or equipment Any changes in process or method of manufacture Resourcing of component parts, materials or services Parts re-released after tooling is inactive for 12 months or
