5、ionallanguage,businessEnglishhasbecomeanimportantmeansofinternationalbusinessnegotiation.Itisnotonlyaproblemoflanguageuse,butalsoinvolvesmanyaspects,suchasculturalbackground,internationalpracticeandcommunicationskills.MakinggooduseofbusinessEnglishcanenhancemutualunderstanding,reducebarrierstocommun

6、icationandgetsatisfactorynegotiationoutcomes.1ConnotationofBusinessEnglish.BusinessEnglishreferstotheexchangelanguageusedbybothpartiesinbusinessactivities.ItisakindofsocialfunctionvariationthatEnglishhasgraduallyappliedtoinbusinessactivities.Itishighlytargeted.Duetothecontinuouspromotionofglobalecon

7、omicintegration,theconceptofmodernbusinessEnglishhasabrandnewmeaning.TheconnotationanddenotationofbusinessEnglishhavegreatlyexpandedandthecontentinvolvedhasbecomemoreandmorecomprehensive.2InternationalBusinessNegotiationConnotation.Internationalbusinessnegotiationsrefertotheprocessinwhichdifferentst

8、akeholdersnegotiatevariousexchangingconditionsforacertainlabororcommoditytransactionintheinternationalbusinessactivities.Thecurrentconceptofgoodshasgraduallyexpanded,includingtechnology,capital,information,servicesandotherintangibleproducts.Themainpurposeofbusinessnegotiationsistonegotiatetheviewsan

9、ddemandsofthetwoparties,tocoordinatetherelationsbetweenthemandtoachieveabetterrelationshipofcooperation.II.TheRoleofBusinessEnglishinInternationalBusinessNegotiationIntheinternationalbusinessnegotiations,theroleofbusinessEnglishcannotbeignored.Fromtheviewoflanguage,businessEnglishhasthebasicroleofin

10、formationexchange.Fromtheviewofbusiness,itismainlyreflectedintwoaspects.First,businessEnglishhaseffectivelyraisedtherelevanceofinternationalbusinessnegotiations.Asaspecializedlanguageamongbusinessactivities,businessEnglishisdifferentfromordinarylifelanguage.Itscontentmainlyincludesbusinesstheoryknow

11、ledgeandbusinesscommunicationskills.Itsdialoguesinvolvefinance,management,marketingandeconomy.BusinessEnglishisprofessional,practicalandtargeted.Second,theemergenceofbusinessEnglishhasgreatlyincreasedtheharmonyandflexibilityofinternationalbusinessnegotiation.Businessnegotiatorsusetheircharacteristic

12、stoeasetheatmosphereinthenegotiatingforum,createarelaxingandharmoniousbargainingenvironment,reduceconflictsbetweenthetwopartiesandavoidthestalemateinbusinessnegotiation.III.ApplicationofBusinessEnglishinInternationalBusinessNegotiation1ApplicationofConditionalSentences.Subjunctiveconditionals.Inthei

13、nternationalbusinessnegotiations,thesubjunctiveconditionalsareoftenusedinrequests,inquiries,oppositions,approvalsandothermoreeuphemisticsituations,givingtheotherpartyasenseofunderstandingandrespect.Forexample,inthenegotiationoftimeschedule,negotiatorsmustasktheviewsoftheotherpartyandrationallyusesub

14、junctiveconditionalstofacilitatethesuccessofnegotiations.Realconditionals.Inthecourseofbusinessnegotiations,negotiatorsmustunderstandthefundamentalinterestsofbothparties,grasptheirownbasicinterestsandclearlyknowthepurposeoftheotherparty.Theyneedtomakenecessaryexchangesofinterestsduringthenegotiation

15、s,butculturaldifferencesoftencausemisunderstandingsintheprocess.AgooduseofEnglishconditionalsentencescanwellavoidthisproblem.2ApplicationofPragmaticStrategy.Negotiatorsneedtoadoptthetacticsofmildexpressionininternationalbusinessnegotiations,tryingnottouseaheavytone,aswellasstraightforwardwords.Whenn

16、egotiatorsaregoingtorejecttherequestsoftheotherparty,theymaytactfullysay“Yourconditionsarereasonablebutwethinkthereisaslightdifferencewithours,givingmaximumtoleranceandrespecttotheotherpartyandmakingtheirownopinionsmoreacceptabletoothers.Humorisalsoanexcellentbargainingtoolininternationalbusinessneg

17、otiations.Humorouslanguageofnegotiationcanfreebothpartiesfromanawkwardandunfavorablepredicamentandmaketheseriousatmospheremoreharmoniousandrelaxing.Humorouslanguagecanletpeopleenjoythewisdom,soastoimprovethechancesofasuccessfulnegotiation.Theuseofvaguelanguageininternationalbusinessnegotiationscanma

18、ximizetheflexibilityoflanguageexpressionsothattherewillbenooverstatementinthenegotiationprocessanditwillleavemoreroomfornegotiatorsfromeachparty.Intheprocessofinternationalbusinessnegotiations,itisinevitablethatsomedifficultproblemswillbeencountered.Vaguelanguagehassomeeffectofcoveringup,sothatitcan

19、avoidthepositiveconflictsbetweenthetwoparties.3ApplicationofPolitePrinciple.Intheprocessofinterpersonalcommunication,politenessisthefundamentalpremisefortheestablishmentofafriendlyandharmoniousrelationshipamongpeople.Ininternationalbusinessnegotiations,negotiatorsneedtomakeappropriateuseofcommunicat

20、iveetiquetteandtrytheirbesttoobtaintheacceptanceandapprovalofbothpartiessoastoseekwin-winresults.Bothnegotiationpartiesshouldpayattentiontotheoccasions,timeandobjectsofnegotiation,usingappropriatelanguageexpressionstoachievethebesteffectofbusinessnegotiation.Reasonableandappropriatelanguageforbusine

21、ssnegotiationsneedstotakefullaccountofallaspectsofsocialandpoliticalfactors.Underdifferentculturalbackgrounds,apolitesentencemaymeanquitedifferentinanotheroccasion.Negotiatorsshouldunderstandtheculturalbackgroundofthepartners,soastoensurethesmoothprogressofnegotiationsandachievetheobjectivesoftheneg

22、otiations.4ApplicationofLanguageEnvironment.Languageexpressionandcomprehensionneedtobecombinedwithlinguisticandenvironmentalfactorsinordertoimprovethenegotiationlanguageexpressioneffect.Negotiatorsneedtoadoptdifferentlanguageexpressionsindifferentoccasions,sothateverythingmaygowellwiththem.Businessn

23、egotiationsmeanmaximizingtheinterestsofonesownbymeansoflanguageexpressionandcommunication.Differencesandconflictsareunavoidable.Itiscommonfortheatmospheretobetenseandsensitive.Therefore,inthespecialbusinessnegotiationenvironment,negotiatorsneedtoaccuratelygrasptheflexibilityofbusinessEnglishanduseli

24、nguisticskillstocreateacomfortableandharmoniouslanguageenvironment,helpingtoincreasethepossibilityofasuccessfulnegotiationresult.IV.ConclusionAsChinaseconomicglobalizationprogresses,itsinternationaltradeactivitiesaregraduallyunfoldingandtherequirementsforinternationalbusinessnegotiationsaregradually

25、increasing.TheuseofbusinessEnglishisparticularlyimportantintheprocessofinternationaltradenegotiations.NegotiatorsshouldfullyunderstandthegrammarandapplicationskillsofbusinessEnglish,anddigoutthetruemeaningofbusinessEnglish.Thecorrectdecisionwilldirectlyaffectthedevelopmentofbusinessactivitiesinthepr
