1、Personal StatementProgram: Technology, Innovation & Education (TIE)The slogan of Harvard is Amicus Plato,Amicus Aristotle,sed Magis Amicus VERITAS (Let Plato be your friend and Aristotle but more let your friend be truth.).I am a girl who is believing in truth, so I do believe that a top university

2、can play an important role in an industrious and talented persons life.I want to apply the Technology, Innovation & Education Program (TIE) in Harvard Graduate School of Education(HGSE).As far as I know, the Technology, Innovation, and Education Program (TIE) prepares students to contribute to the t

3、houghtful design, implementation, and assessment of educational media and technology initiatives.Graduates of the program fill leadership positions in a wide range of fields, including design and production, policy development and analysis, technology integration and administration, research and eva

4、luation, and teaching with new technologies.For most of the people who apply Harvard,the prestige of it should be an important reason.To me, its prestige is also taken into considered,but what actually makes me to apply this university is,originally,a speech,which was presented by Gary Neill,preside

5、nt & CEO of American Sesame Workshop in 2005.In his speech, Mr.Neill firstly introduced the Sesame Workshop,a New York-based non-profit educational group,which has sent its people to 120 countries to talk to teachers, broadcasters, government agencies and non-governmental organisations about how to

6、develop its shows,which is aimed to educate children, by modern technologies.Members in this group have ever not only taught children English or Chinese through cellphone,but also educated them with the knowledge about health by sending them e-mails.They wanted to utilize Chinese peoples creativity

7、to let children in China be involved in the process of study in deed.So that the Chinese education could be improved in a short time.Mr.Neil also addressed that television industry in China were very dynamic and thriving,it developed much faster than the ones in other countries.If the Chinese people

8、 could use it to make specialized shows which met the needs of education to children, more children could have access to good education even without good teachers.However, there are many children in the rural areas of the world dont have the chance to access this kinds of new technologies.For exampl

9、e, a certain number of families in Chinas bordered, mountainous and romote area may have no conditions to possess televisions. And as the conditions in these areas are very harsh, many of the educated student dont want to teach there, so the children cannot have a good education.I want to apply this

10、 university because I want to serve the children in my country as well as in the rest of the world by finding some new accessible technologies to teach them .I have heard that Mr. Joe Blatt,the president of HGSE whos recently completed Surprises in Mind, a primetime documentary about childrens capac

11、ity for mathematical thinking,is interested in the effects of media content and technology on development, learning, and civic behavior. His courses span both formal and informal settings.He has created television series and Web sites for many kinds of learning environments, and he is now helping to

12、 renew the historic relationship between HGSE and Sesame Workshop, as recently documented in the Harvard Gazette.If I have the honor to become a student in HGSE, I will commit myself to assist Mr. Joe Blatt in the field of teaching with new technologies.Apart from my study of the majors, I will also

13、 take up with the renewal of the historic relationship between HGSE and Sesame Workshop,and I hope one day I can help children in Chinas border,mountain and romote area,as well as the ones in the rest parts of the world to learn different kinds of knowledge through the technoligies easily,quickly and efficiectly.So that one day I can become the frontiers of education who can improve the world.
