1、Module 1Unit 1 The flight was late陶静My topic today is taken from Unit 1 of Module 1 in Student Book 6. The main theme of this module is “Travel”, and the topic of unit is “The flight was late”. I have decided to say the lesson from six parts:Part One Analysis of the Teaching MaterialOne: Status and

2、Function 1. This module tells traffic transportation and the travel stories. Besides learning this, students will also learn some words, phrases and expressions of traffic, and so on. In unit 1, we will review several forms of transport, and learn about some journey stories. 2. To attain “four skill

3、s” request of listening, speaking, reading and writing, I will have the students do some exercises about the text. 3. Such a topic is very important in this module. I will lead the students to use their imagination and encourage them to be creative. For example, helping them use English to describe

4、their favorite transport form. So I think if the students can learn this lesson well, it will be helpful to make them learn the rest of this module. 4. While teaching them, I will also encourage them to say something about their favorite form of transport . In a way, from practicing such a topic, it

5、 can be helpful to raise learning interests of students and it is easy for the students to organize their langue, it will be also helpful to improve their spoken language.Two: Teaching Aims and DemandsThe teaching aims basis is set up according to Junior School English syllabus provision.1. Knowledg

6、e objects(1) To study the new words airplane, coach, departure, lounge , departure lounge, transport.(2) To learn and master the phrases welcome back, be full of, because of, fly to, go sightseeing, take a tour by coach, go for a long walk, take a trip, better get back to work, at the end of, plenty

7、 of fun things etc.2. Ability objects(1) To develop the students abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.(2) To train the students ability of working in pairs.(3) To develop the students abilities of communication by learning the useful structures.3. Moral objects(1) Through different

8、teaching methods to make students be interested in study.(2) Love to know more knowledge about transport and dare to express their opinions in English.(3) Encourage the students to be more creative and enjoy journey and lifeThree: Teaching Keys and Difficult PointsThe teaching keys and difficult poi

9、nts basis is set up according to unit 1 in the teaching materials position and function.1. Key points:(1)Be able to express words, phrases and sentences in English.(2)Know about the story in this unit.2. Difficult points:(1)Be able to use noun, article well. (2)Be able to introduce their journey.Par

10、t Two The Teaching MethodsBefore dealing with this lesson, I will try my best to carry out the following methords:1. Communicative teaching method; 2. Task-based teaching method; As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students abilities o

11、f listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Communicative” teaching method and “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, Ill let the students get a better understanding of the key structures. Ill give the students some t

12、asks and arrange some kinds of activities, like talking, listening, reading in roles and showing.In a word, I want to make the students the real masters in class while the teacher acts as a director. I also hope to combine the language structures with the language functions and let the students rece

13、ive some moral education while they are learning the English language.Part Three Studying ways1. Teach the students how to show themselves.2. Make situation and provide meaningful duty, encourage the students to study the text by themselves.Part Four Teaching stepsAs this lesson plays an important p

14、art in the English teaching of this module, I have decided the following steps to train their ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing, especially listening and speaking ability.The entire steps are:Step1 Warm-up and Lead-in Show the students some pictures of common transportations, like

15、car, bike, train and so on. Ask the students: What can you see from the picture? Is there another kind of transportation around us?Purpose of my designing: In this part, have the students say more about what they see or what they dont see. In this way, they will know todays lesson has something to d

16、o with their discussion.Step2 Vocabulary and sentences1. Learn new words in groups. Tell a story about my trip to Henan province and learn the new words according to the pictures and sentences.Purpose of my designing: After seeing the pictures, the students will know what the new words are and they

17、can learn them quickly and easily.2. Learn new sentences. Give the students an example and let them make a new dialogue. They should try to use “because”, “so”, “although” “but”, and know some skills about them.Purpose of my designing: This step is employed to make the students get the important exp

18、ression of someones favorite tansport. At the same time let the students have a chance to practice their speaking ability.Step 3 Listening practiceListen to the tape and know about the story of this unit. Listen to the tape twice and fill in the blanks. Check the answers by stopping when the key wor

ReadingI will let the students read the text quickly and find out the answers of the questions and the read it carefully then complete activity 5 in the book. Finally get them read the text one by one but

21、 everyone only has one chance and encourage every student to take part in this simple activity. Tell them to read aloud.Purpose of my designing: let the students know how to read and make them dare to open their mouths2. Key Structures and Difficult Points LearningFirst, I will divide the students i

22、nto three groups and tell them to have a discussion about what they have learned in this lesson. Then encourage them to try to understand the whole text, know what the difficult points are, and so on. At last, I will help them to master them all.For example, I teach the students know how to use beca

23、use, so , though, but and a ,an, the. I will show them some sentences and get them to know the use of these phrases. Encourage them to do some exercises about these language points.Purpose of my designing: By practicing using these new language points, the students will know how to use them in Engli

24、sh and master the use of them better.3. Read and Say Give the students two or three minutes to prepare, Then help the students say something about their travel. I will give them an example to encourage the students whose English is poor to say more. Purpose of my designing: By reading the text and s

25、aying such things, get the students to practice their reading and speaking ability again.Part Five Summarize and Homework Ask the students such questions: What new words and phrases have we learned from this lesson? Do you know how to use “the, an, a” and how to use “because, so, though, but”. Then

26、show them some exercises and help them to finish them.
