The college students arethe beneficiaries of a rare privilege who receive exceptional education atextraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and supportourselves against all odds? Wil

Willwe be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of ourcountry?The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation whichwould cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The collegestudents I see are eag

3、erly learning about how to live independently. We helpeach other clean the dormitory go shopping and bargain together and take parttime jobs to supplement our pocket money.The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the needfor character cultivation. But again the cynics are

4、 wrong. We care deeply foreach other we cherish freedom we treasure justice and we seek truth. Lastweek thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order tomake a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.As college students we are adolescents at the critical turn

5、ing point in ourlives. We all face a fundamental choice cynicism or faith each will profoundlyimpact our future or even the future of our country. I believe in all my fellowclassmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. Ibelieve that we have the courage and faith to me

6、et any challenge and take on ourresponsibilities. We are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks andto use the education we have received to make our world a better place. 15、e flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the longnight of their captivity.but one hundred years later the negro still is not free. one hundred yearslater the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles ofsegregation and the chains of discrimination. one hund

16、red years later the negrolives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of materialprosperity. one hundred years later the negro is still languished in thecorners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. and soweve come here today to dramatize a shameful cond

17、ition.in a sense weve come to our nations capital to cash a check. when thearchitects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution andthe declaration of independence they were signing a promissory note to whichevery american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men y

18、esblack men as well as white men would be guaranteed the unalienable rights oflife liberty and the pursuit of happiness. it is obvious today that americahas defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color areconcerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation america has given t

22、ation-china unyielding and unconquerable!i once came across an american tourist. she said Dchina has a history offive thousand years but the us only has a history of 200 years. five thousandyears ago china took the lead in the world and now it is the us that isleading. my heart was deeply touched by

23、 these words. it is true that werestill a developing nation but it doesnt mean that we can despise ourselves. wehave such a long-standing history we have such abundant resources we have suchintelligent and diligent people and we have enough to be proud of. we havereasons to say proudly we are sure t
