1、成人大学生英语学习动机研究及教学启示 成人大学生英语学习动机研究及教学启示 Adult Students Motivation in College English Learning and Its Implications for Teaching【中文摘要】 近年来,在二语习得领域,学习动机一直是一个重要的研究课题。许多研究表明动机是语言学习成功的重要条件。本文旨在研究成人大学生的外语学习动机及其对外语教学的启示。鉴于学习动机的重要性及成人大学生群体的特殊性,我们有必要研究其英语学习动机并讨论如何帮助他们建立正确的动机,从而达到提高其英语学习成绩的目的。作者在回顾前人对动机的已有研究的基础

2、上总结了影响动机行为的九种主要因素:语言效价,文化学习,集体评价,个人发展需要,教师评价,个人特征,归因,证书动机和自我效能;并以问卷调查的形式对华北电力大学成人继续教育学院120名非英语专业的入学新生进行了调查。分析总结了成人大学生英语学习动机现状;动机因素与动机强度之间的相关性;并以第一学期期末成绩为依据将受试者分成高分组、中分组和低分组,对三组之间动机因素进行比较分析。最后针对研究结果从三个层面提出了激发成人大学生英语学习动机的有益建议:激发学生内部学习动机(学习者层面);营造相对轻松的学习环境(学习环境层面);加强教师角色(教师层面)。总之,动机研究在英语教学中非常重要。只有了解了哪些

3、动机因素对成人大学生的英语学习最具影响力,教师才能有针对性地采取措施改善学生的英语学习动机,不断提高教学效果。【英文摘要】 In recent years,learning motivation has been a main research topic in the field of Second Language Acquisition.Many studies have provided statistical evidence that motivation is a key factor to language learning.This thesis is to investig

4、ate adult students college English learning motivation and its enlightenment for English teaching.Due to the importance of learning motivation and the specialty of adult students,it is necessary to study their learning motivation so as to better motivate them.Based on the literature review,the autho

5、r summarized nine motivation factors that affect learners motivational behavior:language valence,culture learning,group evaluation,personal development,teacher evaluation, individual personality,causal attribution,certificate and self-efficacy.A questionnaire survey was carried out among 120 freshme

6、n at the Adult Education School of North China Electric Power University.The result of data analysis presents a clear picture of the current status of the subjects motivation,the relationship among motivational components and motivational intensity,and the motivational differences among the three gr

7、oups:high-achievers, middle-achievers and low-achievers.Finally,some suggestions are proposed in terms of improving students intrinsic motivation(the learners level),creating a relatively relaxed and supportive learning environment(the learning environment level),and enhancing teachers role(the teac

8、hers level).On the whole,the study of motivation is very important in English teaching.Only after knowing what motivational factors are most influential to students English study can teachers apply rational strategies to enhance students English learning motivation and constantly improve teaching ef
