Lesson72 A car called Bluebird “蓝鸟”汽车The great racing driver, Sir Malcolm Campbell, was the first man to drive at over 300 miles per hour. He set up a new world record in September 1935 at B

7、onneville Salt Flats, Utah. Bluebird, the car he was driving, had been specially built for him. It was over 30 feet in length and had a 2500 horse-power engine. Although Campbell reached a speed of over 304 miles per hour, he had great difficulty in controlling the car because a tyre burst during th

8、e first run. After his attempt, Campbell was disappointed to learn that his average speed had been 299 miles per hour. However, a few days later, he was told that a mistake had been made. His average speed had been 301 miles per hour. Since that time, racing drivers have reached speeds of over 400 m

9、iles an hour. Following his fathers footsteps many years later, Sir Malcolms son, Donald, also set up a world record. 12、e centre of Paris as he hoped it would, but to Perpignan on the French-Spanish border. There he was picked up by a policeman and sent back to England by the local authorities. When it grew dark. she turned a suitcase into a bed and put the children inside it, covering them with all the clothes she could find. Dur

18、ing the night, it got terribly cold. The woman kept as near as she could to the children and even tried to get into the case herself, but it was too small. Early ,next morning she heard planes passing overhead and wondered how she could send a signal. Then she had an idea. She stamped out the letter

19、s SOS in the snow. Fortunately, a pilot saw the signal and sent a message by radio to the nearest town. It was not long before a helicopter arrived on the scene to rescue the survivors of the plane crash.Lesson76 April Fools Day 愚人节To end our special news bulletin, said the voice of the television a

20、nnouncer, we are taking you to the macaroni fields of Calabria. Macaroni has been grown in this area for over six hundred years. Two of the leading growers, Giuseppe Moldova and Ricardo Brabante, tell me that they have been expecting a splendid crop this year and harvesting has begun earlier than us

21、ual. Here you can see two workers who, between them, have just finished cutting three cart-loads of golden brownmacaroni stalks. The whole village has been working day and night gathering and threshing this years crop before the September rains. On the right, you can see Mrs Brabante herself. She ha

22、s been helping her husband for thirty years now. Mrs Brabante is talking to the manager of the local factory where the crop is processed. This last scene shows you what will happen at the end of the harvest : the famous Calabrian macaroni-eating competition ! Signor Fratelli, the present champion, h

The mummy is that of Shepenmut who was once

24、 a singer in the Temple of Thebes. As there were strange marks on the X-ray plates taken of the mummy, doctors have been trying to find out whether the woman died of a rare disease. The only way to do this was to operate. The operation, which lasted for over four hours, proved to be very difficult b

25、ecause of the hard resin which covered the skin. The doctors removed a section of the mummy and sent it to a laboratory. They also found something which the X-ray of the god Duamutef. This god which has the head of a cow was normally placedinside a mummy. The doctors have not yet decided how the wom

26、an died. They feared that the mummy would fall to pieces when they cut it open, but fortunately this has not happened. The mummy successfully survived the operation. Lesson78 The last one? 最后一枝吗？After reading an article entitled Cigarette Smoking and Your Health I lit a cigarette to calm my nerves.

27、I smoked with concentration and pleasure as I was sure that this would be my last cigarette. For a whole week I did not smoke at all and during this time, my wife suffered terribly. 59、民，加快城镇化进程”的三大战略。其中产业富民通过加快调整结构，整合资源优势，充分挖掘资源潜力，发挥资源优势等措施实施，按照引进一个品种，形成一个产业，造福一方群众的思路，结合我市水产业发展水平较低，发展空间大、前景广阔的实际，建设水产良种工程，为渔农提供良种，发展名特优水产品养殖，增加农民收入已成为水产业富民的主攻方向，也是加快水产业发展，促进渔业又好又快发展，提高农业产值比重的重要举措。2.1.2项目建设是建设社会主义新农村的需要党中央、国务院明确提出要着力构建和谐社会、加快新农村建设，这一新世纪宏伟目标的实现，最终要依靠科技进步、生产力的发展。近年大力调整农作物结构，农民收入逐年增长，加之

60、中央实行减免农业税政策，农村面貌大为改观，农业收入增加，农民日渐富裕。但从一个地区的可持续发展来看，种植业与养殖业发展不平衡，影响着农村经济进一步发展。就张掖市而言，种植业发展潜力越来越小，而养殖业的发展将成为促进经济持续发展新的经济增长点。尤其渔业发展的潜力很大，若注入一定的经济量，提高科技投入，引进适合本地区养殖的水产良种，可带动本市及周边地区渔业发展上一个新的台阶。2.1.3项目建设是加快当地水产业发展的需要我市水产业发展历史悠久，具有广阔的水产业发展空间和良好的发展势头。我市地处交通要道，为河西走廊必经之路，毗邻武威、酒泉、内蒙等地，交通便捷，为水产品的销售提供了方便；黑河流域从我市横

61、穿而过，具有广阔的水域，南靠祁连山，保证了黑河水源远流长；滩大湖广，自然湿地辽阔，天然水草品种杂、数量多，为我市水产业的发展提供了良好的条件。近年来，紧紧围绕“粮食增产、农业增效、农民增收”的总体目标，注重科技含量提升，有力地促进了全市渔业的持续、健康发展。但由于地域限制，水产业在国民经济中的比重较低，主要原因是科技含量、水产品附加值较低，尤其是养殖品种单一，名特优新品种占有率低，没有形成自己的拳头产品；受季节制约，不能随时供应苗种，水体利用率低等因素。因此，引进适合本地养殖的优良品种，建立上规模、上档次的水产良种场已是势在必行。2.1.4项目建设是推动通联县水产良种场生产能力提升的需要某某省

62、通联县水产良种场是目前张掖市唯一一家市级水产良种场，始建于1990年，占地142亩，有池塘100亩，近年来先后生产、销售鱼种25万公斤，为本市及周边地区的渔业发展做出了一定的贡献。但良种场自建场至今，已有近20年的历史，由于池塘老化、生产设备简陋、新技术的运用不够、经费短缺等因素，严重制约着良种场的正常生产，已成为良种场进一步发展的瓶颈。产品的市场竞争力和占有率逐渐下降。因此，加快良种工程设施的改造建设已成燃眉之急。2.2项目建设的可行性2.2.1项目建设符合国家政策渔业法第二章第十六条第一款明文规定，“国家鼓励和支持水产优良品种的选育、培育和推广”；某某省人民政府关于加快渔业发展的意见中，把

63、发展武昌鱼养殖作为我省重点发展的产品；我国“十一五”渔业发展目标和重点指出，为实现“两确保、两促进”的目标，着重抓好四项工作，其中之一就是加快转变渔业增长方式，不断提高产业发展质量，重点要在水产新品种的培育、遗传改良等方面取得进展和突破。2.2.2项目建设符合当前渔业工作的重点在年初召开的全国农业工作会议渔业专业会上，农业部副部长范小建强调：“要加大水产原良种体系建设力度，组织实施水产良种二期建设工程，重点加大对品种改良和良种选育项目的投资力度，提高品种改良和良种覆盖率”。2007年全国水产技术推广工作会议上把积极推进水产养殖良种化进程，不断提高良种覆盖率作为渔业技术推广工作的重点。省农牧厅在

64、全省渔业“十一五”发展规划中，把水产良种工程建设做为“十一五”期间的主要工作纳入规划。2.2.3项目建设符合张掖市主导产业发展规划我市结合本地实际情况，充分利用当地资源优势，提出重点发展棉花、蔬菜、制种、草畜、旅游五大主导产业，畜牧渔业产值已占农业总产值的1/3。我市南靠祁连山，北依黑河，水域广阔，滩大湖大，饵料丰富，交通便利，具有水产业强劲发展的条件，水产业的发展符合我市主导产业发展规划。2.2.4项目建设地自然条件优越我市地处河西走廊中部、黑河中游下段，海拔高度1260m至3140m，光照充足，年日照时数3088小时，年平均降水量230mm，项目建设地气候条件适宜武昌鱼等水产苗种的生长。2

65、.2.5项目建设地饵料资源丰富项目建设地天然饵料相对丰富，尤其是适合武昌鱼摄食的植物性饵料种类繁杂，主要有萍莎、浮藻、苦草、轮叶黑藻、马来眼子菜、青菜、黑麦草等；商品饲料广泛，主要有豆饼、豆粕、豆渣、菜子粕、油渣、麦麸、稻草、麦杆、蚕豆杆、油菜秸、玉米秸杆、紫花苜蓿等。2.2.6项目建设地技术力量雄厚以市渔业技术推广站为依托，多年来培养了一批水产技术人员。省渔业技术推广总站为下属的祁连冷水鱼良种场（地处张掖市）派驻了4名水产工程师（其中1人为副高职称），进一步加强了我市的水产技术力量。全市共有从事水产的技术人员262人，其中高级职称2人，中级职称18人，助理级职称16人，技工32人，农民技术员1
