4、tuated right in the heart of China, covering an area of 167,000 square kilometers, with a total population of 97 million, which is the largest of all provinces in China. Henan is also named “central plain” or “Central State”, for over 4,000 years ago, China was divided into nine state. Henan was cal

5、led Yu State, and was located in the middle of the nine state, hence the name. And you must heard Luoyang, a city which has a long history.Luoyang is located at the western part of Henan Province. It stretches over both the south and north banks of the central reaches of the Yellow River. As the cit

6、y is also situated on the northern bank of the Luohe River and faces the sun, hence the name, Luoyang. Luoyang is famous for being ancient capitals of 9 dynasties. During the time of serving as capitals, Luoyang was always the center of Chinas politics, economy and culture. Lots of historical events

7、 of great importance took place here. It is also one of the excellent tourists cities in China and now is striving for the title of the best tourist city in our country. Luoyang is a city, not only abundant in man-made scenery but also rich in natural landscape. Today, Id like to show you one of the

8、 famous natural landscapes in the region-the Baiyun Mountain. Im sure youll love it.So, now please take your valuable things along with you and get ready to get off the bus.The Baiyun Mountain is located in the South of Songxian County under Luoyang, only 180 kilometers south to the city. It was pro

9、claimed a national forest park by the Ministry of Forestry of China and became a national protection area in 1998.It was honored one of the Top Ten Excellent Scenic Zones in Luoyang and one of the 5A spots. There are beautiful hills and strange rocks with many stories. With the total area of 45 squa

10、re kilometers the Baiyun Mountain has two perfections and four wonders. About two perfections one is its good location. It covers part of the Yellow River Valley, the Yangtse River Valley and the Huaihe River Valley, and is the shared source of the Baihe River, the Yihe River and the Ruhe River. The

11、 other is its varied topography. It has 37 peaks over 1,500 meters above the sea level and an open basin in the middle area. As for the four wonder the first is animals and plants. .The second is its comfortable climate with rich rainfall, cool summer and fresh air. The third is its various natural

12、wonders such as steep peaks, forest, pools and caves. The fourth is its unique geology. The Baiyun Mountain collect not only the grandness of northern mountains but also beauty of the southern ones. It becomes a comprehensive spot for sightseeing, holiday, and scientific research. 13、e, now we are in front of the entrance gate, which is a grand building with white walls and yellow ridge. The couplet on it says that it is the fairyland with rich forest, luxurious plants, beautiful peaks, white clouds and clear water. Please come with me, lets enjoy the beautiful scenery. Now we a

14、re standing on the top of the Yuhuang Peak, about 2,212 meters above the sea level. Its one of the best places to watch sunrise.There are beautiful flowers azalea flowers, some of which are red, some are white, and some have other colors. They spread over the mountains. The total area of these azale

15、a trees covers over 1,000 mu. They bloom in May and June. Please look at this azalea tree, and it is the biggest one here, covering 60 square meters. Well, we have got to the beautiful Nine-dragon Waterfall Scenic Zone. The main attraction is the rich forest and waterfalls in quiet valleys. Its the

16、best of the Baiyun Mountain Forest park. They are the Black Dragon Pool, the Yellow Dragon Pool, the Pearl Pool, and the Nine-dragon Waterfall.Ladies and gentlemen, now we are in front of the Black Dragon Pool. The Black Dragon Pool with waterfall falls down from the cliff ten meters above it. The p

17、ine in the rock twists like Playing with the Black Dragon Pool, so people name it Black Dragon Pool. Nobody knows how deep it is. The workers had texted it with two 70-memterlong ropes. Finally they had to give up because the ropes couldnt reach the bottom. Lets keep going, we can see the Yellow Dra

18、gon Pool now. It gets its name from its shape. Under it there is a row jars about 20meters high with glossy wall. Standing aside, you can hear loud sounds with a waterfall falling into the jars with scattering drops. And with a greeting pine on the top, they form a beautiful picture of waterfall and

The tiny stream from the top carved the rocks year after year and formed a pool. It is said that tigers had here. So it is also called Tiger-bathing Poo

20、l.Now, this cliff we see is the White Dragon Cliff. On its top, a plank road was built. On the left, the White Dragon Waterfall falls down about 80 meters. A folk song says that the White Dragon Cliff is so dangerous that even the hawk and the Immortals cant walk on. You see, streams through the upp

21、er pools fall down here like a roaring dragon, and you can take a picture here.Next well go to the Nine-dragon Waterfall. This waterfall about 123 meters high is like a big curtain. Under the sunshine, rainbows arch over the waterfall at about 9:00 in the morning. If you want to take photos here, pl

22、ease enjoy yourself. Alright, we are in the Secondary Huangshan Mountain Scenic Zone now. This peak before us can match with Huangshan Mountain. So people call it the Secondary Huangshan Mountain. The highest peak is about 1,845 memters with many steep peaks around. The pines in the rocks extend the

23、ir hands to greet visitors.Now we enter the rich forest, the mixing belt of plants and animals both living in South China and in North China. There are over 200 kinds of animals and 1,900 kinds of plants. The coverage of tree is 98%. Its a good place for visitors to explore and spend summer holiday.
