4、修饰名词或代词的从句叫定语从句e.g. I like quiet and gentle music=I like music (that/which is quiet and gentle.) 先行词是物:物+ which/that + 从句先行词是人:人+ who/that+ 从句例1:I love music which is quiet and gentle.= I love music that is quiet and gentle.例2: I prefer singers who write their own music.= I prefer singers that write

5、 their own music.注意:在介词之后,先行词指人时,关系代词只能用whom;指物时只能用which,(且不可省略)不能用that,.但介词放在从句句末时,可用that,且可省略.如: 例1:Do you know the woman with whom the teacher is talking? Do you know the woman (whom/that) the teacher is talking with? 例2: This is the storybook about which i told you. This is the storybook (which/

6、that) i told you about. .2. Prefer(1)prefer + n. (名词),例如: Jennifer prefers musicians who write their own lyrics. (2)prefer to do sth 宁愿做某事,例如: She preferred to write to him rather than telephone him. (3)prefer sth to sth 比更喜欢, I prefer fish to meat.我喜欢鱼,而不喜欢肉。(prefer名词to名词) I prefer reading to playi
