4、 and Jennie Wang to come to Dongwan and see the J310 series with their eyes. Jennie persuade Marcus to go to Dongwan. When Marcus finally agrees to visit Thompson Dongwan with Jennie Wang, Jennie asks her secretary Tina helps her to book the plane tickets and hotel rooms. From the three dialogues, w

5、e learn the etiquette on making phone calls. When you telephone someone, you make clear of whom you are and who you want to talk to. When Jennie telephones Josephs office, she says, “Hi, This is Jennie Wang. Id like to speak to Joseph Liu.” And when Joseph telephones Jennie, he says, “Hi, Jennie. Th

17、th tactics.In writing a business letter, you need to pay attention to the following points. n Call the person to whom you write by name instead of “Dear sir or Madam.” n Teller the reader of the letter what you want him to do. n Dont put on airs. 21、lease tell me? n May I?n I wonder if you could tell men Do you know Make suggestions When Jennie knows her schedule, she wants to make a few changes. So she suggest to Mary, “Couldnt you arrange a visit to the production site this afternoon?” She also asks Mary, “Is there any chance I could talk wit

22、h the chief accountant tomorrow?” When you make suggestions you can also use the following sentence patterns:n May I suggest that you?n What do you think about this?n Have you thought about (using flowers to apologize)?n Why dont you do ?n Would you think about?n How about? Show Agreement and Disagr

23、eementNotice in Unit 5 when Jennie disagrees, she uses questions instead of statement. She asks, “Do you think that the market will accept that?” “What will you do if the customers dont buy the J310 series?” Using questions instead of statement is an important technique that one can use in business

24、negotiation. This will show the other side that you disagree with them. Meanwhile, you will not make them hurt or feel offended in most cases. However, in less formal occasion, you can use short sentences to show your disagreement. The sentences you may use:n I dont like it.n I dont agree. n That is

25、 a bad idea. n I dont think that it will work. When you agree with someone, you may use the following sentences.n I love it. n It is a wonderful idea. n I think it is great. Make Complaints In Unit 12, in the two student dialogues, Ben makes complaints. In the first dialogue, he complains to Sarah o

26、f the lunch provided by a nearby restaurant. In the second dialogue, Ben complains to the waiter of waiting too long for his lunch. Please notice the sentence patterns that Ben uses when he makes complaint. In the first dialogue, he complains to his secretary Sarah more directly. He says, “I cant st

27、and for the food anymore.” In the second dialogue, he complains to a waiter in a round about way. He says, “I dont want to complain, but there is a serious problem here. ” Here is other sentence patterns that one can use in making complaints.n Im afraid Ive a complaint to make.n Im not at all satisf

28、ied with (the service).n Really, Im fed up with your (carelessness).n Ive just about had enough of that. n For Gods sake, could you keep silent for a while. n When you complain, you need to be clear of what you complain about, the purpose of your complaint, and to whom you make your complaints. You

29、need also think about how to make your complaint constructive and workable. That is to say, you need to think about the tone and the sentence patterns that you use when you make complaint. 考试大纲 商务英语口语课程在设计上是一门听说结合、教师讲解与学生自学相结合的课程。 为了督促学生按一定进度学习本课程,在平时的学习中提高英语的听说能力,本课程的考试分为平时测验与期末考试,平时测验两到四次,占总成绩的40%

30、,期末考试占总成绩的60% 。 平时测验主要考察学生的听力, 考察内容完全是学生在商务英语口语课程中学习过的示范对话、学生对话、基本训练的各个项目。考试形 式为机考,学生在听完录音后,根据提问,完成选择题。 期末考试主要考察学生的口语水平,考试形式为录音考试。学生在指定时间内根据要求将所说内容录在各个学习点(或考点)的电脑上,然后由相关教师将数字音频传回南京大学网络教育学院的服务器上。南京大学网络教育学院组织教师根据学生录音评分。 口试内容n口语考试内容分为两部分,第一部分为朗读, 第二部分为根据阅读的短文,回答问题。学生朗读与回答问题时间总共不超过五分钟。n第一部分朗读 第一部分朗读的内容完

31、全是学生在商务英语口语课程中学习过的短文与示范对话,学生可以在考前充分准备。我们通过学生的朗读,评判学生的语音、 语调。口语考试内容的样卷请看模拟考试部分。n第二部分阅读的短文,学生在考前没有接触过, 但内容是学生在生活与工作中熟悉的题材。我们要求学生在指定时间内(8-10分钟),阅读电脑屏幕上的短文, 然后根据记忆回答问题。这些问题与学生平时学习示范对话与短文时碰到的问题在形式上有相似之处。该部分主要考察学生复述细节的能力与概括能力。 第二部分阅读短文并回答问题: 请看模拟考试A Kiss to Start Joan Benny remembers Sunday mornings as be
