1、1.Read about this traditional wedding,then answer the true/false questions.Everybody loves a good wedding(婚礼)and Im no exception(例夕 卜).Ive been to aload(many)of them in my native Britain and I must say that I usually(经常)have agreat time.Fve also been to a few abroad(国外),including the Caribbean and S

4、traditional Bachelor(单身男子)party and Bachelorette party,but this is morefamily orientated and certainly a little less rowdy(吵闹的).This particular ceremony(典礼)was in a beautiful country church and afterwards thecouple was driven to the reception(招待会)in a wonderfully decorated classic Fiat 500,which was

5、 really similar to what happens in the UK,even down to the string(线)of tincans behind the car!The reception itself was also very similar until I realized that the seven tables in the hall(大厅)each sat sixty guests(thats four hundred and twenty,for those of you who didnt studyMath),an average(平均的)numb

6、er for Sardinia but would be considered a very largewedding where Im from.The wine flowed,as did the chatter(喋喋不休)-the famous Italian exuberance(活泼)showing itself to the full.There were the five or six courses(主食)of wonderful food,screaming kids running wild,the ceremonial cutting of the cake by the

7、 bride(新娘)andgroom(新郎)-but no speeches(演讲)!Not one.In the UK it is tradition for the fatherof the bride to propose a toast(干杯),followed by the groom and finishing up with that ofthe best man.His is meant to be the highlight(最精彩的部分)of the lunch dinner,generally having a good laugh(嘲笑)about the grooms

8、 previous actions or some funnythings that happened in his life,but here in Sardinia the groom was spared(免除)thatparticular discomfort.Instead(反而)there was a delightful(让人喜欢的)custom(习俗)which I havenever seen before,in which six or seven of the male guests pass around the hall bangingplates,pots,pans

9、 or basically(基本上)anything that makes extremely big noise.Besidesthat they are also selling pieces of the grooms tie(领带)which has been cut into tiny(极小的)bits.The money raised is then given to the happy couple to help them set up theirnew life together.Really nice.Finally the evening finished with a
