Early back to primitive society, tea has been used as medicine. Tea has been found in the record documents of China Zhou dynasty about

2、1100BC. People began to drink tea in their daily life and the appeared the market of tea in 100BC. Drinking tea became a fashion in Xijin dynasty and Tang dynasty . “Tea Jing”(茶 经 ) written by Lu Yu in 760AD was the first book of tea in the world, which promote the development of tea culture. Shenno

3、ng Tasted PlantsShen Nong Shi, the God of Agriculture, was believed to be the first to discover tea. In his “Book of Herbs”(神农本草经), it says that “Shen Nong shi personally tasted hundreds of species of herbs and he was hit by 72 poisons in a single day. But he used a kind of tree leaves to ease his c

4、ase and it turned out to be tea tree. Lu Yu(陆羽): Sage of Tea Lu Yu of the Tang Dynasty is respected as the Sage of Tea(茶圣) for his contribution to Chinese tea culture. He is best known for his book the Classic of Tea (茶经), which is the first monograph on cultivating, making and drinking tea in the w

5、orld The Spread of Chinese Tea As Buddhist priests start to move around China and Japan, the spread of cultivation and tea drinking follows them. The first mention of tea outside China and Japan is said to be by the Arabs in 850 AD and it was they who were reputed to have brought it to Europe via th

6、e Venetians(威尼斯) circa 1559. However, it is the Portuguese (葡萄牙人)and Dutch (荷兰人)who claim the credit bringing tea and tea drinking to Europe.The Portuguese opened up the sea routes to China, some say as early as 1515. Jesuit priests travelling on the ships brought the tea drinking habit back to Port

13、cian countries, people like to drink tea with milk and sugar added. Black tea can be prepared as a cool beverage. The usual way is that: pour luke warm water over instant tea to make a strong liquid, then pour the liquid into a glass filled with ice cubes, add honey or sugar to taste and one or two
