1、A report on the in flue nee Factors of Graduat ing Stude nts aSurvey Report on Employme nt1 In troducti onIn the last two decades, owning to education, we witnessed a rapid developme nt in in dustry, agriculture, scie nee and tech no logy in China. Education can no t only enrich people s knowledge,

2、but also improve peoplemoral standard as a whole. However, with the new higher education policies coming in to effect, a grow ing nu mber of college stude nts are fully aware of the un certa in ties of their future careers. How to find a right ni che for ourselves?As a result, we did this study aims

3、 to inv estigate the in flue nce factors of graduati ng stude nts employme nt. We hope we can offer some advises forcollege stude nts based on the findings of our research.65 graduat ing stude nts from Shandong Uni versity were inv estigated and65 questi onn aires are valid. The questi onn aire is b

4、oth in electro nic form and papery form. We collect the data and type the result into computer. Besides, in order to make the result more directviewing,we use Excel to makediagrams. Through our statistical an alysis, the results in dicated that most of the college stude nts want to get a stable job

5、with a high salary. And they tend to work in big cities or work abroad where there has a good developme nt prospect.2 Research Desig n2.1 Research Questio ns:The questi onn aire is clearly set out in appe ndix I.More specifically, the followi ng questio ns were addressed:1. Pers on ally, does gen de

6、r has impact on appl ying for jobs?2. In your opinion, which of the follow ing abilities will be the adva ntage whe nyou look for a job?3. Do you think what ability n eeds to be improved whe n you look for a job?2.2 Participa nts:65 graduati ng stude nts from Shandong Uni versity were in vestigated.

7、 40 ofthem filled in the questionnaire online. The students who have been surveyed were volu ntary. And the average age of stude nts was 20. And 30 perce nt of the stude nts are male and 70 perce nt of the stude nts are female.2.3 In strume nt:It was designed by Li Yaru, and it was developed in Engl

8、ish to evaluate the thought of graduat ing stude nts view in employme nt. And the questi onn aire contained 11 items in total, including 10 choice questions and an essay questi on. Modificati ons of the questi onn aire were made by Zhang Yin wei, Wang Rui and Liu Yang.2.4 Data Collectio n:The questi

9、 onn aire was adm ini stered on 12 nd, May. Stude nts were surveyed ran domly on li ne. And stude nts were asked to complete the questi onn aire honestly and carefully. In addition, students were assured to complete anony mity of an swers.2.5 Data An alysis:The data collected from questionnaires wer

10、e entered into Excel for statistical analysis. Bar chart is applied to evaluate the number of male stude nts and female stude nts. And Pie charts were used to an alyze the results of the rest of the questi ons.3 Findings:1. What is your gender?65 graduating students from Shandong Univercity were inv

11、estigated,in cludi ng 13 girls and 52 boys.2. Which job cha nnel do you tend to choose?A. Online 4%Accord ing to inv estigati on result, about 68% stude nts tend to choose the way through friends or relatives to look for work. The result may be due tothe Chinese old saying, at home one relies on one

12、 s parents and outside cone s friendOur familiar people never deceive us. Although most peopletend to relatives and help find work, but there are still roughly 17% thegraduates want to look for a job through recruitme nt fair. This suggests thatsome college stude nts tend to find a job by own effort

13、s.3. After graduation, which field do you hope to work?It is surprised that 89% of college stude nts are not willi ng to work in a major-related field. They think the university teaches learning methods in stead of professi onal kno wledge. As a result, a cross-professi onal job willnot affect the f

14、uture development, and this will give them more challenges in the wok.4. Do you th ink which your preferred salary sta ndard is?For graduati ng stude nts, the salary of their first job should not be too high. But it is found that 46% of people choose the highest salary. Thissuggests that some of the

15、 graduates are full of themselves. In their mind.such work is not worth doing. This is also the reas on why a lot of college stude nts cant find work.5. In the process of look ing for a job search, which will hin der your choice?In the process of look ing for a job, the biggest obstacle is poor work

16、 ingcon diti ons. With the improveme nt of liv ing sta ndard, many college stude ntsare pampered and they can.poeaWork ing en vir onment. Therefore,51% the people want to have good work ing con diti ons. In additi on, salary isano ther big obstacle.6. Pers on ally, does gen der has impact on appl yi

17、ng for jobs?匸.Not D. UnlearlyObviously, most of the stude nts think the gen der has impact on appl ying for a job. Nowadays, with the rapid developme nt of our society and economy, there have emerged many worki ng opport un ities. But there exists a problem that high-level jobs are mostly occupied b

18、y men eve n though some wome n are also compete nt. That disagrees with the equality of men and wome n. It is a well-k nown fact that there are many wome n, Madame Curit and Margreat Thatcher, to name only a few, in history who work as scientists and politicians. When we talk about this phenomenon,

19、first we must admit that there exist some differences between men and women. Then we should know that n either side could be regarded better or worse. For example, if you say menare ofte n calm and objective, but dont you see some men are more carelessthan wome n? Besides, if you think wome n are al

20、ways hesita nt and sen sitive, and then what would you say when they behave thoughtfully in work? Therefore there are not absolute adva ntages for men whe n con sideri ng their gen der. Pers on ally, I firmly believe that wome n should be give n the same rights as men, because they are equally impor

21、ta nt in all huma n activities.However, this kind of prejudice has been existing for a long time. No matter men or wome n have bee n affected more or less; this idea has eve n made some wome n lose con fide nee in themselves. Therefore our whole society and especially our government should take effi

22、cient measure to encourage a certain percentage of jobs especially high-level jobs to be reserved for women. Through this way, we would hopefully see that more and more outsta nding wome n can be work ing in their favorite jobs and can get their desirable position. And just by that our working field

23、 can be called a kind of equality of men and wome n.7. Where is your ideal work ing place?52% of college stude nts want to go to the east regi ons after graduati on.6% of college students want to go to the middle China. And there arerespectively 39% and 3% of college stude nts want to go to the n or

24、th regi onsand the west regi ons. In my opinion, most of college stude nts want to go toeast regi on s. It may be because that the easter n econo mic prosperity. Thereare a lot of job opport un ities and there have more space for developme nt.And some cities in middle China, such as Wuhan Xi an Zhen

25、gzhou, also ha,good jobs to do. But the en vir onment of the wester n and n orther n is not so good, so very few people were willi ng to go and work there.8. Why do you choose the upper vocatio n?43% of college stude nts chose the upper vocati on for high in come.There are respectively5% and 40% of

26、college students chose the upper vocation for fitting in major and good promotion prospect. And 12% chose the upper vocation for the stability of the work. So I think that many college stude nts want to find a good job and earn a lot of money to improve the sta ndard of liv ing. And some stude nts w

27、ant to find a job which can enjoy themselves and live a simple and stable life.9.1 n your opinion, which of the following ability will be the advantage whenyou look for a job? work, which is also a necessary factor. But if the employee is a forty-year-old man who has quit his job or been fired by th

28、e original corporation, then the boss would thi nk a lot of thi ngs such as working ability, experie nee and so on.D.Coni m uniicatioriiAr Eduntion bacikground 9%According to our survey results, only 9% of the students choose theeducationbackground. About 32% of college students think that theiradva

29、ntage is learning ability, and the rest chose innovation ability and com muni cati on ability. It is always a hot topic that what should a boss focus on more, some one pay their atte nti on to ability, and what they think of ability is everything ,but at the same time, some others argue that the opp

30、osite on e-diploma is more importa nt. In my opinion, differe nt choice should be made on differe nt occasi on. In other words, if the employee is a young man who just graduated from universities, then diploma and how does the man show in university should be think about more, there is an old say in

31、g: a man should always be resp on sible for his job, as a stude nt ,he has an obligati on to do his study well ,and at this poin t ,a beautiful school report card is great, at least it proves his study ability, which is very essential for thecoming days, and because he is so young that he owns the e

32、n thusiasm onThen the diploma would be seen nothing as it is just a history to him. All inall ,both of them are important, of course ,there are some else are also in dispe nsably, to the boss ,before making a choice, think about what he want best, namely, which person he need most is the most import

33、ant thing.10. Did you ever think about being self-employed?When it comes to some questions about being self-employed, our survey shows that 72% of the college students never think about being self-employed, and 17% students think that they can create their own bus in ess. And only 3% of the stude nt

34、s have decided to be self-employed, but they are not well prepared. As we know, many college stude nts hope that they can work in some famous compa nies after graduati on, so they know very little about being self-employed. If there are less and less college stude nts cannot create their own bus in

35、ess, Chin as employme nt market willbe worse.11. Do you thi nk what ability n eeds to be improved whe n you look for a job?In the questio nn aires, most of the graduati ng stude nts think the En glishskills and the ability to use computers need to be improving. As we know,many students want to work

36、in foreign companies, so if we can tcom muni cate with others, how can we work? There is no doubt that En glishis one of the worlds most widely used Ian guages. En glish has become theIan guage of intern ati onal trade and tran sport. And the most importa nt is thatEn glish has become the Ian guage

37、of intern ati onal cooperati on is scie nee andtech no logy. The most adva need results in space, nu clear and computerresearch are published in it. In fact, every student should learn English wellwhether you want to work in foreign companies, because this is our basic skill.We are in evitable to me

38、et some data writte n in En glish in our work. So a highlevel of English is very necessary to us, we must learn English better andbetterIn additi on, being well in formed with computer is very importa nt toour college stude nts. No matter what work will you do, computer tech no logyis extremely usef

39、u l to us. There is a saying,“If you know little about computer,you will be an illitera te person in 21st century” .In today s world computer habecome an essential part of our life and it is our best companion. We spendmost of the time with it wherever w e are. Thus in the world where pizza s come faster tha n ambula nee, the boo ming of the computer tech no logy is the gift for a com mon man. A day without a computer is like a day without Sun rise. So lear n computer tech no logy well is very n ecessary to our college stude nts. In some ways, it is related to our future.
