They each have a backpack.lesson 8 比较级和最高级的用法一、比较级1“比较级 + and + 比较级”或“more and more +原级(多音节形容词或副词)”表示“越来越” It is getting cooler and cooler. 天气越来越凉爽。 The wind becomes more and more heavily. 风变得越来越2在含有or的选择疑问句中，如果有两者供选择，前面的形容词要用比较级形式。 如：Who is taller,Tim or Tom? 谁更高，Tim还

5、是Tom?3. “the +比较级, the+比较级”，表示“越越”。 The more money you make, the more you spend. 钱你赚得越多，花得越多。4. 表示倍数的比较级用法： A is times(倍) larger /higher/longer/wider than B. 如：Our school is twice bigger than yours. 我们学校比你们学校大两倍。使用比较级应注意的问题1 比较对象是否明确 比较必须在同类事物之间进行，用that代替天气和人口。如： My pen is better than yours. The wea

6、ther of Harbin is colder than that of Beijing.2比较的范围 当A B，但B包含A时，则须用other来将A排除出去，即：(1) 用“比较级 + than + any other + 名词单数”来表示。如：China is larger than any other country in Asia. 中国比其他任何亚洲国家都要大。(2) 用“比较级 + than + any of the other + 名词复数”来表示。如：He is older than any of the other boys in his class. 他比他班上任何同学年

7、纪都大。(3) 用“比较级 + than + all the other +名词复数”来表示。如：Your department spent more last year than all the other departments put together. 你们部门去年的花销比其他所有部门的加起来还多。(4) 用“比较级 + than + (any of) the others”来表示。如：I received less money than the others did. 我比别人收到的钱少。(5) 用“比较级 + than + the other + 名词复数”来表示。如：He is

8、cleverer than the other students in his class. 他比班上其他学生聪明。3. 当A B，但B不包含A时，句型为：(1) 用“比较级 + than + any of the + 名词复数”来表示。如：He is richer than any of the people here. 他比这儿的任何人都有钱。(2) 用“比较级 + than + any + 名词单数”来表示。如：Im taller than any student of your class. 我比你们班的任何学生都高。3 比较级前的修饰语 常用来修饰比较级的词有：much ,a lit

9、tle , a bit ,a lot ,even ,still ,a great deal of, far ,by far ,any ,rather修饰可数名词用：many more或few.修饰不可数名词用：much more .There are many more books in your library than in ours. His handwriting is much better than mine.4 比较级与冠词the的使用 表示“两者中比较的一个”，要用( the + 比较级 + of the two )的句式. He is the stronger one of

English is the easier language of the two.二、最高级1、基本句式：.主语+动词/系动词 +the + 形容词最高级+（名词）+表示范围的短语/从句。2. 主语+动词 + 副词最高级+表示范围的短语/从句。2、 1. 表示在某一场所中最.,和in引导的介词短语连用。 I am the tallest in our class. 我是咱们班里个子最高的。 2. 表示在不少于三者的同类中“最.”,和of或among引导的介词短语连用。 My movements are the most graceful of us three.

11、三个人中我的动作是最优雅的。 3. 表示在已有的经验中“最.”,用从句表示比较范围。 Racing is the most interesting sport Ive ever known. 赛跑是我知道的最有趣的运动。 4. 用代词或名词的所有格表示比较范围（放在形容词最高级前，此时形容词最高级前不用加the）。 You are always my fondest star. 你永远是我最喜欢的明星。3、 形容词最高级前的修饰词或短语. a. 形容词最高级前有序数词、物主代词、指示代词或名词所有格等限定词修饰时,最高级前不用the。 如: The Yellow River is the se

12、cond longest river in China.黄河是中国第二长河。 b. 形容词最高级在句中作表语而比较范围又不明确时,最高级前不用the。 如: They are happiest on Saturdays.他们在星期六最快乐。 c. 如果两个形容词最高级并列修饰同一个名词时,第二个形容词最高级前不加the。 如: He is the youngest and tallest boy in his class.他是班上年龄最小、个子最高的男孩。 e. 下列词可修饰最高级：by far, far, much, mostly, almost。 This hat is nearly / almost the biggest. 最高级的另外一种表示方法。主语+谓语动词（系动词）+than + any other + 可数名词单数 + 表示范围的短语 此时any other 译成“其它任何一”He works harder than any other student in his class.He works hardest in his class.She is more beautiful than any other girl at her school.=She is the most beautiful girl at her school.
