1、.1Saul Bellow.2Saul Bellow Saul Bellow(June 10,1915 April 5,2005)was a Canadian-born American writer.Saul Bellow was born in Lachine,Quebec(魁北克),a suburb of Montreal(蒙特利尔),in 1915,and was raised in Chicago.He attended the University of Chicago,received his Bachelors degree from Northwestern Universi

2、ty in 1937,with honors in sociology and anthropology(西北大学社会学与人类学),did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin(威斯康辛州立大学),and served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.3Saul Bellow 1976 Nobel Laureate in Literature.For his literary contributions,Bellow was awarded the Pulitzer Prize(普利策奖)

3、,the Nobel Prize for Literature,and the National Medal of Arts.He is the only writer to have won the National Book Award three times,and the only writer to have been nominated for it six times.4Themes and style The authors works speak to the disorienting（迷惘）（迷惘）nature of modern civilization,and the
