Forty-eight of them are in the single region between Canada and Mexico; this group is referred to, as the continental or contiguous United States. Two of the 50 states, Alaska (a state in northwestern North America) and Ha

20、waii (a state in the central Pacific on the Hawaiian Islands), are not contiguous with any of the other states. In the past few years, weve seen or heard many of the worlds events which have something to do with the US, such as the September 11 attacks, Iraqi war, Kartrina Hurricane, etc. Today we a
