1、1 of 172MODU CODE19982 of 172Preamble导言1 This Code has been developed to provide an international standard for mobile offshore drilling unitsof new construction which will facilitate the international movement and operation of these units andensure a level of safety for such units, and for personnel

2、 on board, equivalent to that required by theInternational Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, as amended, and the InternationalConvention on Load Lines, 1966, as amended, for conventional ships engaged on internationalvoyages.1 本规则的制定，是为了给新建海上移动式钻井平台提供一个国际标准，从而使这一规则的实施，将会便利这种平台在国际间的迁移和作

4、f mobile offshore drilling units is not only a complex technology but is rapidlyevolving and that the Code should not remain static but be re-evaluated and revised as necessary. Tothis end the Organization will periodically review the Code, taking into account both experience andfuture development.2

Many existing mobile offshore drillingunits have operated successfully and safely for exte

20、unit is on location for the purpose of conductingdrilling operations, and combined environmental and operational loadings are within theappropriate design limits established for such operations. In the case of column-stabilized units a centralized ballast control stationis a “control station”. However, for purposes of the application of chapter 9, the space where theemergency source of

63、期的日期一致的日子。1.4 Exemptions1.4 免除An Administration may exempt any unit which embodies features of a novel kind from any of theprovisions of the Code the application of which might impede research into the development of suchfeatures. Any such unit should, however, comply with safety requirements which,

64、 in the opinion of thatAdministration, are adequate for the service intended and are such as to ensure the overall safety of theunit. The Administration which allows any such exemption should list such exemptions on the certificateand communicate to the Organization the particulars, together with the reasons therefor, so that theOrganization may circulate the same to other Governments for the information of their officers.对于具有新颖特征的任何平台，如应用本规则中的任何规
