Explain rules and sequence of rounds.5. Invent team names and elect captains.Content6. Begin by having a ge

7、neral round of questions.7. Then have a few theme rounds such as, questions for different age groups, for boys, for team captains etc.8. The next round would be a mastermind round, highlighting one from each team.9. The fourth round could involve participation perhaps singing a song or running forwa

8、rd with an answer or some other form of participation.10. The next round could be the talking for a minute round.Different rounds could be added depending on the levels and interests of the children. Maximum participation should be encouraged at all times.The event durations one hour and the rounds

It will be held from 4.30 to 6.00 p.m. initially, and children will

11、 meet at the beach bure.Equipment needed a simple handout which mentions articles to be found and tasks to do. Also needed are bags to carry findings in , pencils, and one marker. The stages are like the treasure hunt:1. Ensure all children know about the event earlier in the day.2. Introduction of

12、rules and tasks.3. Explain that one hour maximum is allowed for completion of the tasks. Children again operate in pairs and must stay on the Sheraton grounds.4. On completion of the event, the discoveries will be looked at and the crabs will be given a number.5. A winner will be chosen.6. The crab

13、race is then started using a circle and by putting all crabs in the centre. The winner is the first out of the circle. This second part of the activity will be very informal and should last until approximately 7. p.m.As in the treasure hunt, enthusiasm is the main requirement of the instructor. The

16、nt and promotion of ideals perhaps a theme.2. Giving out of equipment.3. Commencement.4. Completion.5. Discussion and positive feedback a voting system for the choice of winner.The instructors role will be vital. Encouragement should be given at all times. He should have ideas and be able to motivat

17、e children to produce a picture.The marking of the end result is very important. Only positive construction should be given. This will be held near the pool or on the beach. The meeting place for the activity is

19、the main pool at 7.30 a. m. for adults and at 8.30 a.m. for children. Duration of the activity is one hour.The types of morning activity:The activity can take 3 forms for adults:1. Morning beach jog.2. Morning beach walk.3. Scenic morning walk around the property.For children, the activity could be

Childrens meeting.PROCEDURES: (continued)Things to be aware of :Beach Jog:For the beach jog, the instructor should be aware of everyones needs and set of medium pace. He should check all gue

21、sts are OK at intervals. If necessary, a pulse check should be made along the way.Beach Walk:For the beach walk, the instructor should again keep a medium pace and engage in conversation with the group or individually. Informality should be stressed.The scenic walk around the property should be simi

22、lar to the beach walk, but specific places of interest should be pointed out. This would be the same with the childrens “exploring the property activity.”Shell hunting:This is a childrens activity and would involve walking along the beach. Shells would be kept and compared at the end of the walk.Chi

23、ldrens meeting:This activity is aimed at preparing for the talent show in the evening. The idea is to encourage children to participate and to suggest ways in which they might contribute. THE STRETCHES MUST BE DONE BY THE INSTRUCTOR.PR

25、OCEDURE:Stretching is vital for getting blood into the muscles and ensuring against pulling or straining. The pre stretch takes place before the morning jog or walk and is available for children or adults. Care must be taken in taking a stretch activity in the following way:1. All stretches should b

26、e done gradually.2. No forcing or jerking of the body is to be encouraged.3. The sides of the body should be stretched equally.4. Breathing should continue as normal and no holding of breath should be encouraged.5. Each individual should do each stretch to their own ability and should not compete an

27、y previous accidents or disabilities guests have had should be taken into consideration.After getting a group together the instructor will introduce himself and explain that he will be doing a few simple stretches before the activity and he would like all guests to join in and copy the movements. It

28、 should be explained that the stretches are designed to alleviate any muscle soreness or potential damage which may occur during the jog or walk.PROCEDURES: (continued)The stretches will take 10 to 15 minutes and will cover the following areas:45. Neck.46. Upper back and chest.47. Arms and sides.48.

The attendant starting the second shift will proceed to the beach after completing the cleaning of all poolside lounge chairs, accompanied by

31、the first shift attendant.2. Cleaning equipment will be carried to the beach from the beach bure or pool room.3. Starting at opposite ends of the beach, the attendants will clean all beach chairs, tops, and bottoms using a detergent, bucket, and wet cloth.4. Following this, chairs will be dried usin

32、g a dry cloth and placed in suitable positions for guests to see when they arise . no detergent will be left on chairs.5. If tide is high, chairs are to be left above breakwater wall. If tide is low, half the chairs may be lifted down onto the beach and arranged nicely. If in doubt, leave chairs abo

33、ve breakwater.6. Any chairs put down onto beach are the responsibility of the beach attendant who placed them and he should either remove them at the end of the day, or make the necessary arrangements with another attendant.STANDARDS AND PROCEDURESDEPARTMENT: ACTIVITIES JOB CATEGORY: EQUIPMENT SUPER

34、VISORHEAD: G. M. APPROVAL: DATE:TASK: CLEANING OF HOBIE CATS, SAILBOARDS, OTHER CRAFT INCLUDING ALL EQUIPMENTSTANDARD: EQUIPMENT MUST ALWAYS BE IN A CLEAN CONDITIONPROCEDURE:7. All craft must be cleaned twice daily. Once early in the morning, and once at sunset.8. Cleaning equipment must be collecte

35、d from the beach bure or the swim pool plate room as soon as the pool cleaning is completed.9. Hobie cats, sailboards, and other craft must be taken down on to the beach to prepare for cleaning. In the event of a high tide or impending high tide, boats will be cleaned above the breakwater wall. Atte

36、ndants must first check the high water times on the beach bure notice board.10. All craft including the chase boat and accessories must then be cleaned using a bucket, cloth, brush and cleaning liquid. All sand must be removed from boats, and any tar or blemish marks to the hulls or topsides to be c

37、leaned off. All sails are to be hosed down using fresh water.11. To dry, all boats will be left in a line with sails, hoisted head to wind, (unless wind is considered too strong). Sailboards will also be rigged and rigs left standing so as dry quickly.12. All other craft will be arranged ready for u

38、se.PROCEDURES: (continued)13. In the evening at approximately 5.00 p.m., all craft will be cleaned in reserve. As each boat returns to the beach, it will be cleaned and returned up the slip way to be placed above the breakwater wall for the night. Sails will be stowed neatly, and all ropes and lines

39、 coiled tidily. Any accessories will be locked away by the equipment supervisor.14. All craft must be in by 5.30 p.m.15. Before leaving, attendant must check that all craft are secure, tidy, in a straight line, and that all lines are coiled.STANDARDS AND PROCEDURESDEPARTMENT: ACTIVITIES JOB CATEGORY

IT WILL ALSO BE CLEANED EACH MORNING REGARDLESS OF TIDE POSITION.PROCEDURE:1. Check and be aware of high tide times on the beach

41、 bure notice board.2. Collect rake, wheel barrow, or garbage container and shovel.3. Begin cleaning process by walking the Sheraton beach and picking up any large debris such as litter, wood or such clearing just past the Sheraton property.4. After picking up all debris, start again from one end and

42、 rake the length of the beach to clear all seaweed lines and blemish lines caused by the high tide.5. As piles of seaweed become too large, use the shovel to lift them in to the wheel barrow or garbage container. Pick up as you go, remembering to always smooth out behind you. Evidence of raking is a

43、cceptable; gaps where a shovel have been use are not.6. After checking your work thoroughly dispose of the beach debris in the area provided and clear all equipment used before replacing in the designated area.7. Cleaning and raking will be done first thing in the morning and repeated two hours each

All litter must be picked up and disposed of in all areas.3. While working near the pool, all chairs etc must be straightene

46、d and laid out aesthetically, and all litter picked up around or under them.4. On the beach all boats must remain in a straight line while not in use. All masts on Hobie Cats must be in a line. Sailboards must be arranged neatly at all times and not left scattered. All litter must be picked up aroun

47、d them.5. Employees should not sit down of or relax at any time, but instead should, it not busy, patrol their particular station for litter.6. While walking to any area for any activity, all staff should be conscious of the need to remove all litter, cigarette butts, and other items.STANDARDS AND P

ConclusionBefore the event the equipment to be set out is as follows:One sailboard rigged and lying on the beach.One blackboard, with clearly visible order of events.(learned thoroughly by the two participating beach attendants). 50、ne megaphone if necessary, Chalk, One regatta buoy.Introduction1. Both beach attendants address the viewing group and introduce themselves. One will then explain the order of events to be shown, using the blackboard programme. The hazards of the tricks will be pointed out, along with the shallowness

51、 of the water this will set a lighthearted tone in case some tricks fail. It will also be pointed out that each trick will come in the same direction from the regatta buoy.PROCEDURES: (continued)Tricks to be shown and their order are:-Head dipSitting, kneeling, splitsSailing backwardsBack to the sai

52、lSailing end upDuck tackCarve jibRail riding forward and backwards.Demonstration2. The demonstration attendant will then sail out to the position of the regatta buoy. As he comes up to the buoy on the first run the land based attendant will introduce the head dip and guests will see it carried out.

53、As the demonstrator returns to the buoy the instructor will explain the next trick ,and again introduce it as the demonstrator comes up to the buoy. Each trick will be done in the same direction.The rail riding will be the climax and should receive a big build up in the way of introduction.Conclusio

The lecture will be a standard format and will follow three stages:1. Introduction Introduce y

56、ourself and the subject; explain its relevance and what areas you will cover. Put the audience at ease.2. Lecture Using the working model, the black board and chalk, the instructor will explain the following: a) The different types of boats and their rigs Sloop, Ketch, Cat rig , Clipper etc.b) The p

57、arts of a Hobie Cat and their functions, Hull, Tiller, Rudder, Mast , Sails etc. The four main controls.c) The points of sailing Beat, Reach, Run etc how they compare and why.d) Sail shape aero dynamical, the changing shape of sails through the ages, batterns, sail parts, sail controls for changing

58、shape.e) How a sail works Slot effect, Wind flow direction, High and low pressure, Vacuum effect.Each stage will be assisted by diagrams and the use of visual aids.1. Recapping and questions The main points will be highlighted as will their relevance. Any questions will be answered.PROCEDURES: (cont

59、inued)2. Test Some kind of test will be given , usually verbally. The emphasis should be on informality and there should be no test; atmosphere.3. Conclusion This final stage is very short and should consist of only a few words to give a clear ending to the activity.During the lecture an instructor
