In the autumn of 20, Chinese President i Jinping proposed the collaborative building of the Silk Road Econom Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road when he visited Central Asia and Southeast Asia.This has been met with s

3、trong response from the international munity and partularly from the countries along the Belt and Road.It has also triggered enthusiasm and interest among many countries to eplore and partipate in the initiative.In order to help people better understand the initiative and engage in the building of t

4、he Belt and Road, the State Council Information Offe held international seminars at the Silk Road Econom Belt in Urumqi, northwest Chinas injiang Uygur Autonomous Reon, in 20, and at the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road in Quanzhou, southeast Chinas Fujian Province, in 20.This year, we put the two s

5、into one seminar, hoping to provide a wider platform for echange and discussion.Here today, to my great pleasure, I have the chance to meet many old friends and also get to know many new ones. The theme of this seminar Shared Memory, mon Development embodies our efforts in treasuring historal legacy

10、tion in poly munation, facility, trade and asset connectivity and people-to-people echanges.As a result, early harvest has been fruitful.A grog number of countries and international organizations have partipated in the building of the Belt and Road.China has signed cooperative agreements with more t

11、han 30 countries and launched manufacturing and production capacity cooperation with more than 20 countries along the routes.The financial cooperation represented by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the Silk Road Fund is making steady headway.A number of landmark projects are being imple

12、mented.People-to-people interactions in the fields of culture, education, science and technology, tourism and merce are increasing.We should note that outes, in terms of speed and scale of the Belt and Road Initiative, have been better than epected.Now, we have a clearer vision on the prospects of t

13、his initiative and are more confident in acplishing it. First, we see a broadened consensus on theBelt and Road Initiative.There is always a process for one to understand a new concept.With theBelt and Road Initiative, China hopes to share development opportunities with countries along the routes an

14、d support the mon prosperity of these countries.Currently, theBelt and Road has mostly pleted the planning stage and is taking steps of concrete implementation and sustainable development.There is a wider consensus of the international munity that the initiative answers the call of our times for pea

15、ce and development and conforms to the aspiration of relevant countries to speed up development.It will help advance econom growth along the routes and boost global econom prosperity, helping to maintain reonal stability and world peace.This has bee the impetus for all parties to join in. Second, we

16、 have bee more reciative of the Silk Road spirit.The ancient Silk Road covered thousands of miles and eisted for centuries, leaving behind vivid memories of how people along the routes stood together through thk and thin.These memories symbolize the Silk Road spirit of peaceful cooperation, openness

17、 and inclusivity, mutual learning and mutual benefits.In the past three years, enlightened by this spirit, people have joined hands, ven epression to their creativeness and enthusiasm, promoted connectivity and reciprocal collaboration.The Silk Roadspirit has helped guide the building of the Belt an

18、d Roadand encouraged cohesion among all parties involved.To further push the Belt and Roadproject forward, we need to stk to and carry on the Silk Roadlegacy. Third, it is increasingly visible that the Belt and Road Initiativeserves the interests of all parties.As the proposer and promoter of the in

19、itiative, China insists on a more balanced roach to upholding principles and pursuing interests and calls for a cooperative principle of equality and mutual benefit.Through joint efforts, the project is well on its way to making remarkable achievements and delivering tanble benefits to the people al
